最近心情有點灰暗。是因為在車上都在聽 NIck Cave 嗎？









Nick Cave 在專輯註明：
這張專輯獻給電影 Pixote ("街童")，以及裡面的男主角 Fernando Ramos Da Silva。

Pixote 發行於1981年。(以下有大量劇情！請自己斟酌之！)

根據危機百科的說法，是一部新寫實主義濃厚的，紀錄片般的劇情電影。片中演員大都不是演員，所演的大抵是他們真正的生活模樣。電影大意是一個巴西聖保羅街頭的街童，因為遊盪被警察送到所謂的 "感化院"。在那裏面遭遇到一連串的欺壓、性虐待、凌辱... 後來他乘隙跑了出來，但是卻更加無處可去了。接下來他捲入毒品買賣，被警察跟毒梟利用，被人黑吃黑。有一天偶遇黑吃黑他的人，就捅死了他。被好心的妓女收留，開始洗劫找妓女的人。一次因為對方抵抗，開槍失手把他給殺了；打鬥之中一陣混亂，還把自己的好朋友也打死了。於是，他被那位妓女，也是最後的一絲善意趕走、排拒、抹滅。最後一幕據說 (因為我沒看過) 是男主角懷裡塞著把槍，沿著鐵軌，慢慢的走出鏡頭。

像不像巴西版的少年ㄟ安啦？像不像四百擊的片尾？看過一篇文章把這部電影跟同樣是80年代的 "中央車站" 相比。有一句話是這樣說的：" Pixote 的編導，才是真正熱愛巴西的人..."

最戲劇性的是：1987年，男主角在聖保羅的街頭因細故被警察開槍擊斃。那一年他19歲。這也是說，上面那一大段的主角云云，當年才13歲。

Tender Prey 這張專輯發行於1988年。這首歌是專輯裏有單曲發行的兩首歌之ㄧ(也就是主打啦)。據說1988年以來，Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds 每次演唱會都必唱這首 The Mercy Seat。

Mercy Seat... 原意是舊約聖經裡，以色列之法櫃上的兩只相對的，純金打造的椅子，代表著神的座位。這首歌裡大量的使用聖經跟教義上的典故，這是 Nick Cave 一貫的風格；而這裡的 Mercy Seat，指的顯然是行刑的電椅。

這裡是acoustic 版本。跟錄音室版本感覺不同，Nick Cave 的聲音更為明晰，個人魅力十足，但卻少了原曲那種跟歌詞之間的刻意相互營造。錄音室版本的youtube被封鎖了，可以聯結去這裡聽：http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WFdUTM4gU-o&feature=related

真理是殘酷的。如果真的要依照真理而行，就不能假裝看不到當他真正展現於塵世時的殘忍本性。
這是獻給真理的歌；從真實的死亡開始，到另一個死一般的真實。
他唱了7遍。中間沒有停頓，沒有bridge，沒有喘息。
最後一次的最後一句，他說了從頭到尾最不正確，但最真實的一句話...

跟鄉愿虛偽的微笑相比，我寧願選擇刺眼的風景，黑暗的聲音。

在 Nick Cave 的歌裏面，這應該是我最喜歡的一首了。
音樂當然是好聽的。可是最讓我喜歡的，卻是文字的韻律，跟整個搭配起來的美麗。

我喜歡這種簡單的歌詞，講一個簡單的故事，說一個簡單的心情；
文字可以堆砌，卻依然簡單、迴旋、簡單，又迴旋。
寫一首可以唱來簡單的小歌，相信我，遠遠比一篇磅礡的鉅作來的困難；
兼加美麗。

人生是無意義的迴旋。
如果藝術是忘卻生活的調劑，是如葡萄牙詩人佩索亞所說的 "暫時的失憶"，所以只能活在永恆的回憶當中；那麼是否接近真相就一點都不重要了。這可以解釋為什麼浪漫派 (跟偶像劇) 總是先受到大眾的歡迎；同時，也一併解釋了為什麼在我心底，不論如何，永遠還是巴哈的迴旋更接近神性的領域。

只不過神性與否，在21世紀，也早已不再有它原有的重量。
我們缺少的只是重量的感受。我們缺少的只是感受的重量感。
而人生、世界的原貌，一直都是那個樣子，一如遠方的山嶺。

這真是張很棒的專輯呢。
Nick Cave 的歌果然是要好好的聽，慢慢的聽；
帶著你的問號跟淚痕，靜靜的聽。

這是在京都，嵐山的渡月橋上。
穿著亮綠色外套，一看就像是背包客的那個，對對對，我說的就是你。
那一天真是美麗：剛被天龍寺的庭園給震撼，隨即又進入了竹林。
美麗的地方，美麗的天氣，美麗的你。

看到這個景，你在橋上走著，旁若無人。
在我腦子裡，這首歌就猛然炸響了起來。

在台灣，信與不信上帝、耶穌是很簡單的選擇題。但是在歐美，那是是非題。

乍看更容易，可是這絕對是件非同小可的事情。
舉例來說，可能就像是在台灣，在老家那裡，你跟所有的阿公阿嬤大聲的宣布：拿什麼香，拜什麼拜啊，拜祖先全是白痴，說完還把神桌牌位全踩在腳下，只差沒吐口口水。

Nick Cave 1957年出生於澳洲南部維多利亞省內陸的一個小鎮Warracknabeal。根據澳洲統計局的普查資料，2001年的人口是2478人。根據官網的說法，它已經算是附近鄉村的商業中心了。後來他上學的時候搬去附近一個大一點的城市 Wangaratta，人口19,000，離墨爾本也近點，大約250公里。
