hi there,
thanks for passing on the message. much appreciated.
are you still doing exchange at university of georgia? how you liking studying at a north american institution? uga is only a states school, though, isn't it? states schools aren't generally as good as private schools, but i suppose it's always nice to experience the western lifestyle. i personally like living in north america much better than in taiwan....
anyhow, good luck with your studies. i will be sure to visit your page regularly from now on. :)
take care.

I am already back for a while. UGA indeed is not as good as private schools. Pace is prettly slow there and life is rather relaxing as well. Anyway, it is still a pretty good experience though. However, I am glad I am back, even though I am rather used to American life. After all, my family and friends are all here. Besides, I might live US for another five years, or more. I do treasure my times in Taiwan.

Are you going to grad school in the States? Which school?
North American universities are much better than the ones in Taiwan, so you have definitely made a wise decision to go on with your education here.
However, do not underestimate the importance of your command of English. Most professors here would not go easy on students just because English is not their first language. My God brother is a PH.D student at University of British Columbia (UBC) in Canada. He has a friend who had a Master Degree from National Taiwan University and came to UBC for PH.D. That NTU student did meet the TOEFL requirement and was admitted to the school. However, her supervisor said her English sucked, so the supervisor kicked her out of UBC PH.D and sent her to some language school. The professor wouldn't let her go back to UBC until he was satisfied with her English skills.
Anyone from Taiwan would assume that a student with a Master from NTU would be able to wing it easily as pie at any English-speaking institution, but I suppose things are not always as simple as how they seem on the surface.
Regardless of what school you are attending in the States, I wish you good luck! :)
