Just Another Runtime Typecasting

嗯，唐宗漢(Autrijus Tang)變成唐鳳(Audrey Tang)這件事已經是一年前的新聞了，不過最近我又得知另外一位社群開發者也是如此特別唷 :)

就是Beryl Project的Quinn Storm

（不知道Xgl / AIGLX / Compiz / Beryl是什麼的可以看這一篇）

當初我在玩Xgl和Compiz的時候，就注意到Ubuntu上面有一個叫做quinnstorm的套件庫，比Compiz官方版本更新速度還快（當然問題也就不算少啦:p）

後來在收聽Novell Open Audio的Compiz Gets Forked這一集的時候，發現講到Quinn都是說she，網頁上也寫著（粗體為筆者所加）：


Recently, a community developer named Quinn Storm announced that she would start a compiz-based fork project called “Beryl,” citing frustration with Novell regarding getting her code fixes accepted into the Compiz upstream source tree.


心想：「哇！又是一位女性社群開發者耶！」

過一陣子Linux Link Tech Show的第173集訪問了Quinn Storm，我注意到她的聲音沒有很尖，也不太低沈，然後在該集的網頁我看到這一句（粗體為筆者所加）：


58:30 - Quinn suffers from Asperger syndrome and is transgender, Quinn had a hard time growing up


後來又找到Beryl Project討論區她的自我介紹：（粗體為筆者所加）


Anything else interesting about you?:
I'm a transdyke, a lesbian trapped in a man's body. Yes I wish to be referred to in the female, yes I plan to go through hormones & surgery, no I don't like guys "that way", but big beautiful curvy girls should apply :-P


嗯，從這段她出席Ubuntu研討會的訪談影片看來，Quinn真的還沒有去動手術......

這個是一般人對於變性的認知有問題，並不是一個醜男送進手術室就可以給你一個大美女。變性手術只解決第一性徵(外生殖器)，外表容貌聲音都不會因此而改變 :)

話說回來，妳那篇愚人節快樂，在這個脈絡下，還真是耐人尋味啊 XD

另外，本篇的標題的靈感的確是來自唐鳳的那篇，不過，妳漏掉"Just Another"兩字在Just another Perl hacker這個脈絡下的意義，我只能算妳答對一半 :p

關於某事我個人的看法是這樣，反正你永遠不知道那個是真是假，就算親眼見到也分不出是真是假，那幹麼管它是真的假的呢？ XD
