同上,品項似乎很多,我也沒買過.

The 60’s counterculture movement was and still is a fascinating subject, as you tried to prove it again. No one is able to recreate the moment, except to examine the mementos and maybe take a sip of the spirit from that era and be amazed that it actually took place at all. I believe as a culture movement so widely and deeply felt in the West, it totally bypassed the Chinese population. Chinese societies everywhere, so wrapped up in their own bubbles at the time, were just not in the condition to be open to such a thing. Growing up in the 60’s in Taiwan, I saw first hand how the counterculture, of hippie, movement was seen as a symbol of western decay and was cracked down mercilessly. Obviously, it was a big enough threat in somebody’s eye that the whole establishment was mobilized. Censorship machine established for other purposes was used effectively (to the best they could) to block the “western impurity” from reaching the island. Police forces were out there to nail anyone who grew their hair passed a certain length. It was depressing for teenagers. But, let me tell you, life goes on. It was all part of the scenes that helped shaping us.

It is meaningful in the respect that by your effort more Chinese reader can be exposed to that part of human experience. Since, most of them missed it by a country (pun intended) mile at the time it actually happened. We all have you to thank for.

可以試試看從Django下手,這些盒裝雖然貴,但請相信我一定値得,收錄的曲目很多專輯都已經絕版了,想找即使找的到,買個三四張也差不多就等於這些盒裝了.....

RHCP新專輯我還頗喜歡,雖然只聽了兩遍,但比較起來,今年YYY和The Flaming Lips都要來的讓我失望的多......

I don't know how to express my appreciation for all your commends and encouragements. Actually recently I am quite depressed and tired after graduation~

I still have a bar exam waiting for me to challenge.

But anyway, I will still do my best to translate this book into Chinese to let the all the new comers, readers, or listeners know more about the counterculture and psychedelic era. I will do my best, thanks!

You will see better days. Talking about depressed, if you don’t mind, I have my own ‘St. Louis Blues’ to share. I’ll be brief since it’s personal. The summer I was out of school (Missouri-Rolla), I was desperately looking for a paying job to help my dwindling bank account, plus a chance to stay in this country at all. A St. Louis company with national reputation finally responded and gave me an interview. I was excited to say the least. As I was on my way there I was stop in a speed trap. The cop was friendly but still handed me a ticket that cost like a monthly rent. It hurt. The worst part was that I was late for the interview and you know the rest. St. Louis was just not very kind to me.

Got to have a music element, right? My great America job hunt later led me to New York City, where I saw the Allman Brothers Band at the Madison Square Garden, the best concert I witnessed up to that point in my life. They were great at one time (see Fillmore East album for a taste). Finally I landed a job in Texas. Phew, tires me just to think about it now.

Do anything but burn yourself out. Regadless what Neil said in that famous line, he also has this to say in another song of his (Hippie Dream) - Take my advise; don't listen to me.
