各位朋友

有件事麻煩大家替我留意。瑞典的社會正義黨Socialist Justice Party和國際勞工委員會Comittee of Workers Interantional 成員Laurance計畫在四月初來台灣, 他預計停留兩周。

他對中國勞工議題關注已久(請見他設立的網站 www.chinaworker.org )，他希望此次台灣行能拜訪一些工運團體，工會和學生社團，不過他完全不會說中文。

他也詢問台北住宿的問題， 哪裡可以找到比較便宜的旅館？可惜我不在台灣，無法處理這些事。

所以各位朋友如果: (一)方便提供住宿， 或是(二)知道哪裡有便宜旅館，請盡快聯絡我。

我並不認識他(他人在瑞典)， 他的自我介紹如下：

(他在八O年代擔任過英國工黨青年代表，後來離黨成立社會主義黨，現在擔任CWI在瑞典分部的專職，他很願意跟大家分享歐洲的左翼政治運動以及帝國主義等議題，他對台灣工運、政治情況和兩岸關係很感興趣) 我還會請他多做一些說明， 以利台灣行。

我所知CWI 是國際托派組織 (其網站 http://www.socialistworld.net/)，因此他及所代表的團體當然具有某些特定的立場和意識形態，不過站在國際交流的意義上，還是不妨一會。他會先去印度拜訪左翼和工會團體，再到台灣。

Thankyou for agreeing to help me with this. I realise it's short notice so I'm not expecting miracles.

I'm a full-timer for the CWI's section in Sweden (Rättvisepartiet Socialisterna) and also run the www.chinaworker.org site, having a special interest in China. I am originally from the UK, where I was active in the Socialist Party’s forerunner the Militant for many years. Back in the 1980s I sat as the youth representative on the National Executive of the Labour Party (in the days when it had a sizeable left-wing).

If there are groups that may be interested in meeting me, I am keen to learn about the political situation in Taiwan and the cross-strait issue, and for my part am experienced to speak about issues in Europe (political situation, threat from far right, new left parties), the struggle against capitalist globalisation, US Imperialism in Iraq etc. If student organisations for example wanted a guest speaker at a meeting on these issues – I'm up for it.

I will be in India and Sri Lanka visiting CWI comrades in late March, and therefore the most likely time for a visit to Taiwan would be around 28-30 March to about 10-12 April, or alternatively one week later i.e. 5-19 April.

The greatest problem for me is the language, I don’t speak any mandarin. But if there are any meetings, conferences, political events happening at that time at which people who were willing to translate for me, that would of course be exceptional luck on my part.

I'll call you again shortly, when I know more about my travel times.
