Apple

alann,
MacBook Pro......

Posted by alann at May 28,2006 23:23
Posted by 情緒話 at May 30,2006 01:10

Apple 還有 trade-in/recycle 的 program.
Posted by Kimi at May 30,2006 20:05

hehe. I hate their machines, but I like MacOSx86...
MacOSX runs better on a PC.
Posted by six at June 7,2006 01:50
This Sony machine runs OS X faster and more stable than on an Apple machine. It is also fully functional.
Best of all, it costs way less than what Mr. Job is telling you...

UneasySilence has posted instructions on how to get Mac OSx86 running on a Sony Via laptop. "First of all, you can’t install OS X on a new partition, it needs it’s own drive. For this guide Im installing it on my Sony Vaio TR2A. Since I only have one harddrive, it means I’m wiping windows and all my files in the process. You can easily follow the same steps but instead install it on a second harddrive in your PC.

Posted by 不辣哥 at June 12,2006 09:57
alann,

six,

Jerooca,

Apple,
Posted by 阿秀 at June 14,2006 13:45

six,

i used to think like you, if i can get it cheaper and run better, why not? but then i realized that i dont have the time. and for people who arent very good with computers, who's going to help when there's a big problem..... ? who's going to come to my rescue when i'm running OSX on a dell machine? Or running XP on a applce?
Dell? or Apple?
you and i both know the answer.... NEITHER

that's why i just got my mom a mac, and say forget it... 500 bucks more, so what?

=)

six and e,
Both suggestion are valid.
Move on.. more discussion is welcome.. =)
Posted by Kimi at June 29,2006 09:36
e,

Good point. I forget to say that MacOX86 is for pro only.
If you are just not smart enough when it comes to computers, then don't bother, just buy a mac.

Mac is GREAT for those kinds of people.
Posted by six at June 30,2006 11:53
lol
are you suggesting that pc (wintel) is for smart people? =)
i'm just saying mac is less of a hassle, and if you really dont need a computer that play games, mac is much easier to maintain.... imho.

kimi,
move on? =P i guess you dont want us to have a mac v. pc fight here? =)
Posted by e at June 30,2006 23:38
e,
Which part of "MacOX86 is for pro only." can't you understand?
Did I say anything regarding Windows or Intel or both?
In fact, My MacOS X is runing on a AMD machine.

Mac is less of a hassle? you mean the machine or the software?

If you are talking about the MacOs X, then I will agree.
If you talk about the hardware, then it is not true at all.

Too bad, a loyal Mac user don't have the choice not to buy the junky hardware from Apple right? How sad.

Just remember that MacOS X can also run on a x86 machine.
It is cheaper, more stable and faster to run MacOS x on a x86 machine.

A x86 also let you play all the latest games and able to use the best hardwares.

I do agree that mac is much easier to maintain. People who owns a Mac hardly uses it anyway, what is to maintain? Ha!

"if you are just not smart enough when it comes to computers, then don't bother, just buy a mac."

i find that sentence offensive. what do you mean by smart enough. i said, i dont have the time to deal with it. there comes a time in my life that i choose not to spend time on my computer 24/7 and quite frankly, i dont have time to be on it 24/7 because i have other things to do.

it's much easier to maintain from a point of view that
it does work out of a box. like i said, there was a point in time that i had time to maintain a windows machine, or whatever other os machine is out there. i dont have the time to do it anymore. and if you read my post carefully, i bought my MOM a mac. i dont have time to do the virus scan, do the spyware scan for her. Therefore, it's much easier to maintain.

what do you use your computer for? game? i buy a playstaion for my games. 90% of the world, use a computer for email, internet and word processing. Ha!

e,
Again, why are you bring Windows in to the conversation? Who is talking about Windows??
I am talking about Mac OS X.

>>are you suggesting that pc (wintel) is for smart people?
Again, who are talking about Windows or Intel?
Did I memtioned anything about it?

Your reply is another proof that Mac users does not know as much about computers as others.

kimi,

sorry. you can delete my post if you'd like

I smell explosives from a couple of previous dialogs. It's like the latest PC/Mac commercial but worse.

I am sorry to say this, but the comment made by six, and I quote, "If you are just not smart enough when it comes to computers, then don't bother, just buy a mac," is a bit offensive and personal.

One main reason I chose to allow the PC/Mac fight was to believe people deserve a second chance to elaborate their thought. From my impression, wordings may be key to misunderstanding. Vocabuloaries and words reflect the speaker's mindset at that point of time.

Now I would like the verbal fight comes to an end. Thanks for discussing.
