Pulp靈魂人物Jarvis Cocker個人大碟自然是所有Britpop迷迫不及待瞻仰的巨作。本來有點怕Jarvis首張單飛作會尖酸刻薄難以下嚥，沒想到極易入耳。

跟最後一張Pulp新作已相隔五年。Jarvis先生，你也四十好幾了，推出作品的頻率可以短一些吧。

聽著Jarvis Cocker這張專輯，腦子也不曉得怎麼搞的，老是想到去年大獲好評的Richard Hawley。

我認識Pulp的年代其實有點晚，要到他們打滾多年後搭上Britpop風潮時才發現Pulp的存在。想當初Pulp的"Babies"啊……

本來想找出Anita O'Day版本的"The Ballad of the Sad Young Men"，可惜YouTube上沒有。

不過倒是找到Shirley Bassey分別在1976於1979年留下的兩個版本。

Anita O'Day的<慘綠男孩>版本老是讓我想起<<玻璃動物園>>The Glass Menagerie裡頭那個每晚跑去戲院的兒子（每晚上戲院幹啥呢？不管幹啥都行吧……）。Shirley Bassey的版本，無庸置疑，一定是獻給Drag Queen的謳歌。

不管哪個版本，這首歌實在Queer得緊哪。

也會讓我想起許多沒出櫃的劇中人。

最近挺喜歡的女歌手Helen Humes。這位大姊的歌聲甜美可人 -- 似乎噸位越大的黑人女性嗓音越嬌嫩？

史上有天份、有才能、有風格、有特色的歌手多如繁星，但有多少人能登上Ella等三姝的天后地位？

更令人納悶現在那些打混的歌手到底都是怎樣拿到唱片合約的？

無庸置疑，影史震古鑠今的偉大片段。

我最崇敬（或說是敬畏）的導演Stanley Kubrick曠世名作，2001: A Space Odyssey開場部分。真是高啊，令人寒毛直豎地高啊。迄今依然無人能出其右。

音樂自然是Richard Strauss的Also Sprach Zarathustra <<查拉圖斯特拉如是說>>。這音樂與影像已無法切割。

本篇重點其實是，本人活了好幾十年，到今天才突然醒悟，「查拉圖斯特拉」Zarathustra原來就是教主「瑣羅亞斯德」Zoroaster大人。真是白活了，我。

下面這段就是骨頭變成太空船後的延續，影像同樣經典：外太空的華爾滋。音樂還是由姓史特勞斯的人擔綱，不過這下換成了小史特勞斯Johann Strauss the Younger的<<藍色多瑙河>> An der schönen blauen Donau op. 314 (On the Beautiful Blue Danube)。



所謂文明與蠻荒啊……
