Recently, the Naturejobs Career Magazine illuminates a spotlight on Taiwan science research. The editor, Paul Smaglik, wrote an article stressing that Taiwan government is taking a determined approach to science research and development (R&D) by providing multimillion-dollar, five-year grants to 12 universities. He also mentioned some present scientific achievement of Taiwan, including nanotechnology and transgenics.
