How are you doing recently?
I hope everything is going well.

As you guys know, the Thanksgiving holiday is coming! Thanksgiving is a holiday when we suppose to be with our families. Although our families are far away, we will still have some fun together and share our happiness. Big thanks to our advisor, Prof. Lin! She invites all of us to her lovely house on the Thanksgiving evening to have a wonderful dinner. Everyone is welcome.

林老師的邀請信

Hi, I-Fang,

As I mentioned to you over the phone, I am inviting all the Taiwanese students and their coinhabitants to our house on the Thanksgiving evening (11/23, Thursday), 4 PM. Please ask them to mark their calendar on that day. It will be better if you can give me a bulk number so I know how much food I should prepare. It does not need to be precise and anyone is always welcome to show up but I need to have a bulk number so I will not run short of food that day.
My home address is 2541 Flying Ebony Dr. It is close to Hamburg shopping area and is about 15 min driving time from school. My home telephone number is 543-1645, in case any one gets lost that day.

後記

實在是太感謝林老師了，準備這麼豐盛的感恩節大餐跟大家分享，謝謝老師！

這次是第一次到林老師家，屋子的環境很幽靜，裝潢就跟老師夫妻給人的感覺一樣，很簡潔俐落卻不失溫暖，是個很舒適的家，就因為太舒適了，我們這伙人居然從下午四點呆到將近十二點，晚餐就吃了兩攤。

看到滿桌的台灣美食：油飯、炒米粉、滷蛋、毛豆、滷牛腱、薑母鴨、水晶蝦、涼扮酥菜，當然也有感恩節必備的火雞，大家都等不及大快朵頤。不只有美食，喜歡喝兩杯的老師夫妻也準備了許多酒跟我們分享，更厲害的是，老師還自己釀酒，包括啤酒、葡萄酒，還有專業的包裝！不是在拍馬屁，老師他們釀的啤酒真的好喝耶，沒有一般的苦澀味，相當地順口。

有酒助興，大家也就暢談暢玩了起來，一夥人在地下室玩桌球，一夥人圍在餐桌聊天，一夥人跟 Rasco 玩，一夥人跟小朋友玩，一夥人跑上跑下，還有兩個人窩在柵欄區躲狗 ^^"，渾然不覺時間的經過。這當中還有 Rasco 表演精采的秀給我們看！Rasco 是老師家的愛犬，超級活潑，一進到屋子裡就高興地東跑西跑，相當討喜，林老師跟 Rasco 合作表演了三個秀： Roll!、Stand!、Jump!，看的大人小孩都很開心。

宵夜時間到，大家都很有默契地又回到餐桌旁大啖美食，老師們也坐下來跟我們喝酒喝茶，那種感覺就好像吃完圍爐後的聊天時間，老師跟我們分享了許多經驗，大伙七嘴八舌地也讓老師更加認識我們這群學生﹝當然，八卦也聊了不少 ^^﹞。

是個很開心的夜晚，Thanksgiving，感謝！
