關於廖風順

綜合媒體報導：
今年廿四歲的油漆工廖風順，未婚，服完兵役二年多，就到中船公司的外包商「寶勝油漆工程行」擔任臨時工，一個月薪水二萬多元，這分收入是全家主要經濟來源。
廖風順在家排行老大，下有一弟目前服役中，最小的妹妹仍在就學，由於父親罹患糖尿病截肢，母親為家庭主婦，因此家中生活重擔全落在廖風順身上，但無情的強震所引發的海嘯，讓廖風順客死異鄉，家中生活陷入困境。
廖父說廖風順第一次出國，一定幫家人買了禮物，遇到海嘯時，可能捨不得行李中的禮物被海嘯沖走，才會奮力搶救行李，沒想到自己反遭侵襲身亡。
廖風順是受公司安排首次出國旅遊，就碰上了泰國四十年來罕見的大海嘯。罹難的廖風順，將可獲得兩百萬元意外險理賠和三萬元醫療費用。

廖家除了廖風順一個月二萬餘元的固定收入外，父親平日也會帶著弟弟下田工作，有時還會接一些零時工的工作來增添家用，廖風順的妹妹目前就讀大學四年級，這幾年來也以半工半讀來減輕家中負擔，展望會將視家屬情況適時給予獎助學金之幫助。廖小姐表示，哥哥一直是家中的精神支柱，更是最大的經濟來源，每個月的薪水都會原封不動的交給母親，雖然哥哥走了，但她一定要挑起這個擔子好好照顧這個家。雖然家境清貧，父親又有些微肢障，但廖小姐說，父親仍然希望靠著自己力量好好的活下去，所以謝絕透過媒體報導所帶來的外界捐款。展望會將會持續關懷廖家的需要，同時會協助轉介資源，讓廖風順有輕微弱智的弟弟獲得一份穩定的工作。
