推出單曲的同年5月﹐Needles and Pins 登上全美排行榜第84名﹐但是在英國和加拿大可是久居冠軍寶座﹐紅極一時。第2年剛剛出道的英國搖滾團體The Searchers及時翻唱男生版﹐成為引人注目和披頭同期的新人團體。

我喜歡歌詞裡那個自己承認搞小聰明﹐玩弄愛情遊戲的小女生﹐看到喜歡的男生跟別的女生跑了﹐一面嫉妒一面詛咒﹐祈求上帝﹐要那對戀人也在不久的將來﹐和現在失意的她一樣的痛苦。真是把年輕的戀情說明的淋離盡至。
