我這老爸，沒去修學位也是整天抱著書啃，啃了這幾十年，比我們家幾個年輕的都認真踏實，我寫碩士論文時都沒有他日常閱讀的認真。雖然他對幾年來的各種從事所做出的貢獻，都有一定的自信，但他偶爾還是會有一點點落寞，說起他當時為何放棄公費沒有繼續唸書，說起這個看學歷比頭銜的社會，如何讓人不舒服。

六七十歲的人了，其實並不差一個頭銜，但取得學籍後，啃書能拿到個學位，也算還他個公道。
