Jake Pollock
美國人,紐約大學電影系畢業。畢業後於紐約拍攝多部得獎短片,包括《The Census Taker》、《Still》、《Bees and Landscape》。二十三歲即第一次正式拍攝電影長片《Whatever Happened to Kathy?》,並入選1999年美國獨立製片市場展。
相較於好萊塢類型通俗片,Jake更喜愛亞洲電影的細膩與氛圍,2002年來到台灣修習中文,因緣際會成為台灣頂尖的廣告、MV攝影師。Jake的攝影風格新穎靈動,每部作品都帶給觀影者創新的視覺享受與挑戰,近年開始參與多部華語電影拍攝,包括林書宇導演的短片《海巡尖兵》、何蔚庭導演的短片《呼吸》、陳宏一導演的短片《Take My Hand》以及電影長片《約會》、《Xin Yin》。目前剛拍攝完成新銳導演鄭有傑的首部電影長片《一年之初》。

Attended New York University's Tisch School of the Arts where he trained in cinematography and first became interested in Asian cinema. After several years in the New York independent film world, he relocated to Taiwan in early 2002, pursuing his craft as far from Hollywood as possible.
In New York, Jake shot several award-winning short films including Aaron Cohen's “The Census Taker” and Wi Ding Ho's “Still” (winning First and Third Prize at the 1998 Wasserman Film Awards, respectively) as well as “Bees and Landscape”. At the age of 23, he shot his first feature, “Whatever Happened to Kathy?” for director Chris Cain which was selected in the 1999 Independent Feature Film Market.
In Asia, his short and feature credits include Tom Lin's “The Pain of Others”, Wi Ding Ho's “Respire” (selected for the 2005 Cannes International Critics' Week: winning the Kodak Discovery Award and TV5 (Very) Young Critics' Award), Award-winning commercial director Chen Hong-I's short “Take My Hand”, and feature films ”The Promise” and ”Xin Yin” which was shot in Beijing. He is currently in post-production on Cheng Yu-Chieh's first feature length film ”Do Over”
