內容簡介：
田野工作已經不再是人類學者的專利，今日，當「文化」已經成為人們形容有別於自身的生活及思考方式的詞彙時，我們反而很困擾，如何看待文化差異與自己的道德價值間的斷裂？從我在玻利維亞寫的日記開始，這兩個小時的時間，除了分享一個人類學學生進行異文化田野的不完美步驟，也希望藉由重新觀察、反思這個田野過程，呈現人類學面對實際現象時，如何在文化差異與普世價值之間定下平衡點。最後，也期待藉由貴校學生在海外服務工作經驗所面臨的兩難問題討論，來作為我們練習成為一個尊重文化差異，但又不失價值觀點的工作者。 ...繼續閱讀

Culture Shock
People usually experience many emotions while adapting to a foreign culture, changing from excitement and interest in the new culture to depression and fear of the unknown. The difficulties that you experience as you integrate into a new society can be a result of what is termed "culture shock." Most experts agree that culture shock, although often delayed, is inevitable in one form or another. But adjusting to a foreign culture, and living through difficult times of change can be a satisfying experience, one worth the occasional discomfort and extra effort.

世界上有80%的失明是可以防止的?
三千六百萬人因缺乏資源而失明?
印度擁有全世界最多的失明人士！更可悲的是，這些人原本可以像你我一樣，享受這世界的美麗色彩。導致他們視力無法挽回的，是資源與金錢的缺乏。
為了減少失明及其他眼科疾病，Unite For Sight為貧困地區的人民提供眼科醫療服務。Unite For Sight與當地眼科診所合作，提供眼科篩檢、眼科健康教育、分發眼鏡與眼科手術。2007年Unite For Sight為超過200,000人提供服務。同時，也資助了6,032個眼科手術。Unite For Sight所資助的手術費用來自募集的捐款，讓貧困的人不再因付不起手術費而失明。
今年夏天，我將參與Unite For Sight國際志工活動，走入印度社區chennai，針對眼科的疾病為當地人進行篩檢與教育。同時，也為當地沒有能力支付手術費的病人籌募費用，讓他們不再因為沒有錢而失明。只要台幣一千五百元就可以讓一個白內障患者恢復視力，免於失明。我們的目標是讓至少三十個人因為您的捐贈而重獲新生，與我們共享色彩繽紛的世界。
