If libraries relate to students’ knowledge, sport activities obviously relate to their health. Health is the foundation of everything, but knowledge is also necessary in or life. I think all universities should give the same amount of money to their students’ sport activities as they give to their libraries. Two reasons for my opinion are as follows.

First at all, even though I don’t know how much money universities give to their sport activities and libraries, a good university should pay more attention to students’ health condition and improve their interest in sport. Universities have to build gymnasiums, swimming pools, basketball courts, tennis courts or pool halls, manage these facilities, and hold competitions on campus to encourage sporting atmosphere. All of them need much money.

In addition, why are students’ sport activities so important? Of course, sport activities keep students healthy. Students who like sport, have a clear mind, good memory, and can concentrate better on studying. Besides, many sports are also helpful to students in training their cooperation and resolve. On the other hand, sports activities are not only good for students’ health, but also good for their studying.

In conclusion, a good library is necessary in a university. Some good sport facilities and activities also represent the university’s fullness. So, I think universities should attach more importance to sport and maybe give the same amount of money to both of them.

In former years, people got married and had children when they were teenagers. Before age of forty, they had become grandparents. However, their life expectancy was under sixty. Now, most people are living longer. People living to over eighty years old are not rare. What causes this phenomenon? I think advanced medical technology and comfortable lives are the main reasons.

First, modern medical technology is the most important cause of longer life. In the past, even having a fever from flu could take a child’s life easily. Now, we have big hospitals with advanced medical instruments, 24hr emergency rooms, many clinics in our neighborhoods, and a convenient 119 service. All of them take care of our lives.

Second, we are living in a convenient and comfortable modern world. We eat good food, drink clean water, sleep in concrete houses, go swimming every weekend and when we are in trouble, the police protect us. Many decades ago, everyone had to work hard for life. They overworked in farms, forests and factories with bad conditions. Maybe some people were slaves receiving inhuman treatment, or soldiers in wars between countries and tribes.

For these reasons, people are living longer than before and maybe will be even longer in the future. However, if nobody dies, we might have to emigrate to Mars—there will be no more space and resources on the Earth.

There is an old saying in Taiwan, “Money is not everything, but without money, you can not do everything!” Of course the money is yours, you can use it to do anything. Therefore, if you use all of your money to “enjoy”, you will feel unhappy very soon. I think that it is better to save money for some day in the future.

Taiwan is a capitalist country, and doesn’t have a good social welfare system. You can’t earn much money if you are only an employee. If you are short of money, almost everything in your life will have trouble. For this reason, how can you “enjoy” money? You’ve to pay rent, maintain your car…etc. If you get married and have children, you well be pressed for money every month!

Also, if you really want to “enjoy” something, you should save money beforehand and invest it. In this way, you might have enough money to have fun, enjoy a vacation in Tahiti or travel around the world—otherwise you can only buy thins like new clothes, new bags or have a rush holiday in Ken-Ting on a weekend, and never have enough money.

Money is something that should be used, and you deserve to enjoy your money after doing hard work or successful business. Therefore, an appropriate plan for money is necessary if you don’t want to “drink the northwest wind—another Taiwanese saying” for your dinner.
