A Summer Stroll in Netherland
Would it be bad if I say honestly that compared to Germany, Netherland to us was kind of disappointing? Surely the wooden shoes are as lovely as Swedish wooden horses, though you will read something else in this post. Let's get it done quickly so that we can move on to France after I get through the exam. :p
Amsterdam
Except for the sake of Vincent van Gogh and Rembrandt, I found it hard to like this city, well, partially due to the lousy hostel "Flying Pig". It was cheap indeed, but this place was as bad as it could be. On the evenings we stayed there, all four of us looked like prisoners behind the bars (and felt so), wondering if other backpackers in the hostel were holding a drug party.
The major factor that I had no interest staying longer in Amsterdam was the green spiral things around the city. You can check out Google, those were (and still are) the public urinals for men. The smell was really bothering and annoying. Nothing could look attractive when haunted by such odor. ( ̄︿ ̄;; )
How weird that Amsterdam looks so good on this postcard and none of us would like to visit Amsterdam ever again. Some of my friends have good impressions of the city, I know, sorry.....
I do love Van Gogh and Rembrandt, though.

Windmills and tulips
At Martina's suggestion, we all went to the countryside to go biking around the windmills. Netherland's bikes were pretty much interesting, quite diverse from the bikes in Taiwan. How different?
Firstly, they were designed for tall people. You have to be at 170 cm or taller to get comfortably seated on a bike. (You know what I mean by that discomfort, right? hahaha~) The bad news: I am not over 170 cm. @_@;;
Secondly, the brake was not on the handlebars but on the padals. There was no problem when riding forward, yet by the time I tried to slow down the speed by treading slightly backward, I fell off right away because the bike completely stopped. Ouch, it hurt! Many people in Taiwan have such a habbit, so be careful when you go bike-riding in Netherland. :p
But that was the best day we had in Netherland. Thank you for your beautiful idea, Martina! (^▽^)
