We are living in an everyday architecture exhibition, made by architects, planners, developers, construction companies, infrastructure, kilometres of cables and communication waves. So why do we need an architecture exhibition anyway? From the promotion of architects' super-ego, to a research based approach to society: an insider's view on architecture exhibitions.

Emiliano Gandolfi is an architect and curator of the Netherlands Architecture Institute in Rotterdam. Recent curatorial projects include: ‘Newer Orleans’, an exhibition and conference on the recovery of New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina; ‘DynamiCity - Tactics for a Changing Metropolis’, an exhibition on re-animating the urban realm; ‘Spectacular City - Photographing the Future’, an show on the relation between photography, video and the urban landscape; and ‘A Better World’, an exhibition and series of public events on architectural activism, as part of the International Architecture Biennale Rotterdam.  He is a contributor to several magazines, such as Volume, Artforum New York and L'espresso.

今天跟著朋友去聽 Emiliano Gandolfi講關於建築的策展。
有幾個點，覺得很創新，於是就用分點的方式，零散的記起來。
在台灣好的建築展不多，原因是大部分都只是re-present model 而非 present an concept or idea 或提供一個可供討論的場域。
擷取幾個點，算是一個小筆記。

Architecture don't like to be  curated, instead, we often experience it in life. so why we need a exhibition about architecture.

Raise a issue, framing a discussion.

建築跟策展一樣都跟communication相關.

alejandro jodorowsky the holy mountain 裡頭有一橋段在諷刺一般人對建築這件事的印象，主角在進行project的present時，用盡所有能娛樂評審者之能事，而最後通過的建築方案是...密集高掛在牆上的棺材。

as a curator, as a researcher, visualize my thought, as a tool to make discussion
 (這句話讓我印象很深刻，策展人同時也是一位研究者，在這裡看了不少很有深度的展覽，幾乎每個展都可以是一篇很好的論述。都能丟出能令人思考的議題)

Spread a filed in to cultural sence.
(所以 Emiliano Gandolfi 最近關心的議題就是slum，經過調查全球五個人裡面就有一個住在slum, 而全球有95%的房子不是經由建築師經手。接下來要處理的是一個跟建築師不太相關的文化議題.....)

然後，有一位觀眾問：既然土地這麼有限是否來個大災難把所有建物移平，再來重建？
他的回答很妙：onece you erase the problem, you erase the potencial of it.
