　　　2000年雪梨奧運的開幕式上，澳大利亞把她們最引以為傲的歌手Tina Arena介紹給全世界，Tina在開幕式上奮力一唱也讓她全球知名度爬升到最高點。

　　Tina Arena可以說是澳洲出身，當時知名度僅次於Minogue家姐妹的女歌手，她在受邀為2000年雪梨奧運開幕式演唱主題曲"The Flame"之前就已經有豐富的歌唱經歷和成績了。在她年輕的時候，曾經參加澳洲版的「約瑟夫與奇幻彩衣」音樂劇演出，也因此獲得安德魯洛依韋伯的賞識。1998年即為韋伯的音樂劇"Whistle Down the Wind"「微風輕哨」演唱同名主題曲"Whistle Down the Wind"；她也曾參與音樂劇「鐘樓怪人」的演出，飾演女主角Esmeralda，並詮釋劇中經典歌曲"Live (For The One I Love)"。(Celine Dion也曾經錄製過這首歌曲，收錄在精選輯中。)

　　2000年雪梨奧運的開幕演唱只是將她正式介紹給全世界的契機(畢竟在這之前Tina Arena已經累積了相當的名聲了。)雪梨奧運主題曲是由澳大利亞當地作曲家John Foreman譜曲填詞的"The Flame"，這首歌頌奧林匹克聖火生生不息、激勵人心的主題曲同樣也少不了慷慨激昂的曲調和立志向上的歌詞，這首歌曲應該可以算是所有奧運歌曲中，名列我喜好的前三名，不過我很喜歡這首歌有大部分的原因是來自Tina Arena的演唱，從這首歌可以聽出她的歌唱實力和技巧真的非常熟練，而且高音飽滿一點都不刺耳喔！

　　

　　Tina Arena在去年12月和今年1月各發了一張英文專輯"Songs of Love & Loss"(翻唱經典情歌、一首新歌和一首重新詮釋自己的舊作)和一張法文專輯"7 Vies"，我個人還蠻愛那張法文專輯的！

　　不過跟Tina Arena比起來，在開幕式和閉幕式都佔重要表演節目的Nikki Webster更加受人注目。

　　這個當時只有13歲的小女孩不但在開幕式時吊鋼絲演唱雪梨奧運重要的形象歌曲"Under Southern Skies 在南方的天空下"，也在閉幕式站在全場最靠近聖火的位置演唱"We'll Be one"，唱完即熄滅當屆奧運聖火，可以說是在閉幕式的最高潮表演。

　　Nikki Webster年紀小小的卻有豐富的表演經歷，她曾經參與音樂劇"阿拉丁"的演出，她在雪梨奧運開閉幕式的表演之前就已經累積許多戲劇經驗，也就讀相關表演藝術學院。1997-98年間演出音樂劇"悲慘世界"中Young Cosette的角色則是她的第一個正式工作。

　　Nikki在結束學離奧運的演出之後馬上與BMG唱片公司簽下合約，發行3張專輯和一張精選輯(年紀輕輕就發精選，嘖嘖！)，2006年結束與BMG的合約之後就搬到美國，根據她自己的說法是正在籌備新專輯，不過到目前為止都沒有更新的消息傳出來。她在BMG旗下發行的三張專輯在澳洲都有不錯的成績，走的就是青春偶像的路線，不過我到google搜尋她的照片的時候，發現她長大之後好像也變成慾女了XD。

　　雪梨奧運的開幕式展現出南半球澳大利亞豐富的海洋意象，尤其是Nikki Webster在開幕式時與一堆象徵澳大利亞自然生態的人造生物一起的毫不怯場演出，唱著Under Southern Skies，展現出歷屆奧運開幕是少有的純真形象。雪梨奧運開幕式充分表現出澳大利亞的地利環境特色和歷史軌跡，我覺得是一場很成功的開幕典禮，在全球的觀眾面前也再次打響澳大利亞的形象。

　　雪梨奧運曾經發行過一張官方專輯，裡面除了收錄"The Flame"、"Under Southern Skies"之外，還有Olivia Newton John所演唱的Dare To Dream等歌曲，不過這張專輯我找了好久都沒找到，網拍也都沒有.....:(
