Film By:itsartolie   Enough cannot be said about Bill Evans' (August 16, 1929--September 15, 1980) contributions to jazz. He literally invented modern jazz piano, his use of impressionist harmony, his inventive interpretation of traditional jazz repertoire and his syncopated and polyrhythmic melodic lines influenced a generation of pianists, including Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, and Keith Jarrett. This series of videos is from his apperance in the Molde Jazz Festival, Norway, on Aug 8, 1980, a mere month before his tragic death with the members of his last trio Marc Johnson on bass and Joe LaBarbera on drums playing a number of originals and jazz standards followed by a very insightful Evans interview. Tunes: "Re: Person I knew" (an original, the title being an anagram of longtime friend and famous jazz producer Orrin Keepnews), "Days Of Wine And Roses", "Your Story" and the ever - present, haunting "Nardis", a staple in Evans' performances.

< Wikipedia-Bill Evans-Drug Addiction >  Evans's chemical dependency problems most likely began during his stint with Miles Davis in the late 1950s. A heroin addict for much of his career, his health was generally poor and his financial situation worse for most of the 1960s. By the end of that decade he appeared to have succeeded in overcoming that drug problem, but during the 1970s became a serious and eventually fatal issue for Evans. His body finally gave out in the fall of 1980, when, ravaged by psychoactive drugs, a perforated liver, and a lifelong battle with hepatitis, he died in New York City of a bleeding ulcer, cirrhosis of the liver and bronchial pneumonia.    艾文斯依賴精神性藥物的情況 約莫始於1950年代末期與邁爾斯 戴維斯 (Miles Davis)的合作 長期依賴海洛英的他 身體健康不佳 財務困窘 1960年代末期曾一度戒斷藥癮 但在1970年代又再度依賴起古柯鹼 飽受藥物摧殘 肺穿孔 肝硬化的艾文斯 於1980年9月15日 因嚴重胃潰瘍 肺炎 支氣管炎 猝逝於紐約市 享年51歲
