英文字義的確定，講究的是查字典。我查了Webster, Heritage, Oxford, Cambridge四部字典，對generalissimo的解釋並無一字之貶，我同時也查了「偕偕王」所說的“Encarta “，他說：「不會講得更好聽的」，可是Encarta的註釋定義是﹕top military leader: in some countries, the supreme commander of a combined military force consisting of the army, navy, and air force，這段英文字義註釋簡單的翻譯，generalissimo就是「某些國家的三軍統帥」，「偕偕王」的說法豈不是無中生有？
我們都知道維基百科(Wikipedia) ﹑是部並非委任專家所寫的正式百科全書，錯誤當然難免，更多，譬如維基百科的文字，什麼是“In most developed English-speaking countries”( 在大部份已開發的英語國家中) ？英語國家在全世界193個國家中，寥寥可數﹕美，加，英，澳，紐西蘭，全部也不過這麼幾個，大多數( most ) 又是幾個？三個？那我請問，為什麼美英正統字典(如上段所述字典)均未指出「有貶意」的此一事實？
還有，根據美國國會對上述演講的正式記錄，其中有段開場白﹕The Vice President: Senators﹑distinguished guests﹑Mme. Chiang Kai-shek﹑wife of the Generalissimo of the armies of China﹑will now address you. (applause ) ，譯成中文﹕副總統(宣佈道)﹕各位參議員，貴賓們，蔣介石夫人，中國三軍統帥的夫人，現在要向你們致詞(掌聲) 。
