We Built The City on Rock and Roll‧
- In memory of STARSHIP BAND in our teens
/ Sabina Sun
We built the city on rock and roll
They did Indian belly dance in a lovely French salon
Talking about revolution in different tone
Promoting ideas and concepts, pretending radical
To be, or not to be? The question is,
Well, Yes or no
We built the city and try to promote with classical cello
They played Bach’s temperament in-between major C and L
Carrying my auntie’s passion and her portable piano at café Brazil
Whispering multicultural channel in 88 notes,
Modernist or Traditional? The choice of "either or" is,
Oh no, almost mission impossible
Finally, we built the city on Metropolitan jazz with local aboriginals
Rocking the young blue teens and making their street bands roll
Kicking off the hybrid rhythm of Bossa Nova with maiden Lisa Ono
All the strangers coming to meet at home town, We, the people,
Local or global? Frankly, the labeling is,
Well, essential but also reversible
Body Talks‧
Under the eyes of our big brother, her body resists
All the stereotypes and hearsays on the screen
She’s too deep and complex to form an easy soap opera
So we try to write down a poem
For preparing a relevant question for her
To open an eternal life search
Of the profound of meaning in/between us
Under my critical eyes, your body talks
Like sun flowers moist with rain drops
Upon a curvy bridge across the troubled water
At this crucial moment, she’s sitting blossoming like lilies
Meditating with the ejecting nipples, endless passion and vigor
Touching an inner landscape of the desiring
The vast correspondence

The Unbearable Ashes of History‧
The light of hope led us into a long and dark basement
Of history, we started to become smarter
Start to see living ghosts groaning and bleeding, still
Desperately Crying for a minimum of justice,
Still, we hear
Their deep pain vibrating upon our hearts, Beating still
Then we struggled to walk out of this dark room,
With both optimistic and pessimistic mood
Try to grasp the Sun, a minimum of hope,
But still, we can see their souls dancing and singing
Right in front of us
With the sad ballad of unbearable memories, Standing still
Shall we prepare a good dinner for them? Shall we
Just to humbly express a minimum of gratitude
For the light of wisdom they’ve ever showed us
The essential reflxivity for the reversible future
Before the desirable victory, hanging still
Before the unbearable dark is coming again

The Silent Anger of Pacific Ocean‧
/Sabina Sun
When a cat being nurtured as a cow in the family
Flower blossoms in the garden and nutritious milk comes
Naturally, beautiful songs accompany the miracle of Formosa.
When it grows into a tiger, arbitrarily and brutally,
The Pacific Ocean will be dismantled, floating with the ice
Of war threat, consciously or unconsciously,
When the media machine activates a hating engine, intentionally,
Like a beast among people, the violence of lining color accelerates,
Anger in history speeds up, inevitably, between us,
Whatever traumatic will be, they said, will be
The mosaic world will be burning, silently but angrily,
Bottom line of individual freedom melts away, immediately,
Water of peace vapors into air, eventually, and it will be,
The termination of multicultural Channel, the end of friendly world.
