《新新聞》最新一期專題，專訪民進黨幾位政治領導人如何面對「中國崛起」。這四位被冠上「寇」字頭的領導人，對中國政策多採開放積極的態度，反觀整個民進黨卻處在要不要舉行「公共辯論」的猶豫狀態，令人不解。

「中國崛起」並非只是論述和想像，而是從1978年設置深圳經濟特區開始的一連串「市場經濟改革」成果，是必須面對的「歷史現實」。認真面對轉型後的新中國，不是向中國投降，也非立場不夠堅定，而是能夠「理性地」處理、反應及代言「歷史條件」的態度。這才是政治人物應有的態度。

        民進黨高層也是高雄市長陳菊女士，終於走出冷戰陰影親訪北京，為民進黨首演「破冰之旅」。這雖是民進黨的一小步，卻是台灣主體性前進世界的一大步。那意味著「台灣」對自己的「民主生活形式」和解嚴後辛苦打造的「政治共同體」更有自信，通過各種形式向世界行銷「台灣經驗」，當然也包括「不友善的中共」。

     　台海兩岸被中國內戰和世界冷戰阻斷了經貿往來將近半世紀，已分別長出不一樣的「共同體文明」：一邊是社會主義中國，一邊是民主自由台灣。隨著世界冷戰結束，全球資本主義的跨界投資打造新平台，讓同文同種卻生活在不同共同體文明下的兩岸，有了新的對話契機。     　 ...繼續閱讀

台灣主體性的Come Out政治學

日前在瑞士日內瓦WHA國際會議上，在暌違了三十八年後，台灣首次被列為觀察員。有參與權，但無決策權。卻不料被一位熱情的台灣美女出面質疑台灣出席者的「代表國號Chinese Taipei」是否折損了台灣主權。

 

關乎「主權」和「國號」的爭議對我們來說並不陌生，在台灣島內通常會上頭條例行爭吵一番，但你若仔細去看日內瓦在地的報導，卻一條都沒出現，只被當成「違反公共秩序」的違警事件處理。層次之低，真是情何以堪。但為什麼呢？

Sitting and chatting on the air

We send out our heart-felt love messages

Around the globe, immediately, leaving and arriving,

Interactively responding with no time difference

So soon, so wild and wireless

A city with no boundary, no taboo, no delay of waiting

Time and space murmuring in between

We’re so connected, when something clips in some way

To embrace electrically on air and breathe each other with

Electricity, like lovely needy kitties

Like the Sun sending energy and kisses to the moon

From afar, the wind sending blinks to the buildings

Across the line between the North and the South, And keep going,

Going onto the courtyard sitting between the West and the East

From heart to heart, we try to chat

Over the creaky memory of our unbearable youth

There’s a place called home where we know how to tease and cheese

Playing piano, chewing notes, and singing opera

Left all the laughter to the living room

And whispers, whispering to the kitchen window on the roof

Through the mirror, we finally can see each other,

And another young woman, washing dishes on the corner

Still, cooking her raw and immature eye brow

Swinging her hair, listening to our adored Bruce Springsting,

Peace and war, still, the whole community chatting on

Like a whole city burning overwhelmingly on rock and roll

So, where are you? My sweet heart,

When the song touched my soul and made me so moved

 

Whatever day it is, 
We'll see,
Sunny or gloomy,
Cheer or sorrow,
Worthy of a glass of magaritta or whole-wheat whisky,
For you or for me.
The best one for celebration is, whatever, 
The day to kick off.
