一部四十年的金龜車，和一位已懷孕的老婆，看似單純無奇的故事，竟能拍得如此戲劇感人。歷任買主的真情告白，讓導演不忍銷毀此部令老婆火大的車。而 臨盆的她，希望能為孩子準備一部安全可依的好車。於是導演展開千里尋找可低價修車的翻修廠，歷經千辛萬苦，在最後緊要關頭，車子剛修好，老婆已住院生產， 只好棄車飛奔探視。數日後，當然是開著金龜車出院，小孩安然睡於車內。
「一開始我並沒料到，當初我花掉所有積蓄買下的破金龜車，會成為我和老婆衝突的焦點。在我拍攝進行到第二階段時，她發現她懷孕了……，於是我決定 將影片的主題，對焦在人際關係、父親的角色，以及自我成長的歷程。過程中我還前往約旦，我很高興影片裡的際遇，完全無涉政治。我只是想告訴大家，人類也是 能和平共處的。兩年的拍攝時間，我也歷經由男孩轉變成男人的過程，現在我知道自己當初企圖逃避責任的想法，實在很愚蠢，還好老婆原諒了我，後來她甚至還很 喜歡這部影片。」─伊賽．歐萊恩

The director, who owns an old-beloved Volkswagen beetle, is about to become a father. His mechanic says the car won't last, his wife complains it's unsuitable for a baby. Yishai begins a "save-the-beetle" journey starting with previous owners, continuing to Jordan and ending with the birth of his first child.
“I did not know that the VW Beetle I had just purchased with all my savings would become the center of disagreements between my wife and myself – and the subject of my first feature film. As the arguments about the car began to ignite, I started to film what was going on at home. I then decided to have the focus of the film be relationships, fatherhood and growing up. During the two years in which I made the film I underwent a process of maturation which reached its peak when my son was born. I now know that the fears and the attempts to try and avoid responsibility were foolish. There are some things I did that I regret, but I did grow from them. In any case, my wife forgave me and she even liked the movie.” – Yishai Orian
