偶戲動畫先驅史塔利維奇（Ladislas Starewitch, 1882 - 1965）是電影史上經常被人忽略的重要人物之一，被譽為歐洲迪士尼之稱的他，在波蘭出生、立陶宛長大，但其最高成就卻是在俄羅斯與法國。來自立陶宛、波 蘭、日本和德國的團隊，用本片向這位電影創作者充滿創意和實驗精神的一生與作品致敬。本片融合劇情、動畫和紀錄種種形式，以仿史塔利維奇專長的甲蟲戲偶做 第一人稱，穿插偶戲、專家解說，與珍貴影片片段，精彩有趣，令人愛不釋手。還有什麼比這個充滿實驗和趣味精神的方法，更適合用來回憶這位動畫大師呢？

Ladislas Starewitch (1882-1965), a pioneer of puppet animation, is one of the most forgotten film geniuses. He was named as a true wizard and an alchemist of animation, whose wizardry was born in Lithuania; he got his fame in Russia and flourished in his full power in France. Unique methods of animation, never disclosed to others - who was he?
