Managing Stakeholder Expectations in Asia Pacific: The annual Asia Pacific stakeholder study and the implications for corporate reputation in Taiwan
Vast differences exist between markets on trusted sources and channels of information. Understanding these differences while making core business decisions is key to every company's success. Asia-Pacific Edelman President Alan VanderMolen will speak on stakeholder expectations of corporations in the Asia-Pacific, including levels of trust in institutions, including business and media, trusted sources of information and usage/channels of information about corporations in the region.
The study, part of global public-relations firm Edelman's annual Asia Pacific Stakeholder Study conducted with Harris Interactive Inc., looks at seven stakeholder groups: government, media, NGOs, employees, upscale consumers, institutional investors and senior business executives across 10 Asia-Pacific markets, namely Australia, China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, South Korea, Singapore and Taiwan. The study;s objective is to understand stakeholder expectations of business.
About the Speaker Based in Hong Kong, Alan VanderMolen serves as President of Edelman's Asia-Pacific region, overseeing operations in 14 Edelman offices in eight countries. VanderMolen joined Edelman in February 2002 after 13 years at Burson-Marsteller, where he served in various management capacities in New York and offices throughout Asia and Europe. During his career, VanderMolen has held positions specializing in corporate positioning, public affairs, marketing and organizational communications, issues management, market expansion and regulatory consulting. VanderMolen's experience in Asia includes managing Burson-Marsteller Southeast Asia region and global programs for clients including Boeing, Citibank, Nike, P&G, Philip Morris, Unilever and Visa International. He appears regularly on CNBC as a commentator on issues related to corporate reputation. VanderMolen holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in journalism with a minor in Political Science from Ohio State University. |
