當英美北歐日本聽過都Post-Rock後，少不免感覺有點膩，來自新加坡的I Am David Sparkle正好是及時雨。一行四人的I Am David Sparkle，於2001年成軍，隊中成員過往曾有Punk、Hardcore等音樂背境，不過來到I Am David Sparkle時，盡變成思潮起伏的Post-Rock之音。去年，樂隊自次推出《Apocalypse Of Your Heart》EP，現已絕版，而首張專集《This Is The New》，是他們加入新加坡獨立廠牌Kitty Wu發表作品。

遺憾未能找到《Apocalypse Of Your Heart》，但從《This Is The New》，開場曲《The Way Of The Universe》是傳統Post-Rock風格，時而寂靜時而澎湃的變奏，那緊湊張力令人重搭早年聽Mogwai的興奮感覺，而《Do You Cry While You Sleep》則是緩慢的氣氛化作品，5分鐘時間點到即止，沒有犯上拖泥帶水的毛病，至於電氣化的《Jaded Afghan》成為了唱片的緩衝區。停下來再起步的《There Is No Time For Love, Only Chaos》，像潮湧過來的巨浪式結他音牆，由淡然的結他和弦作序幕，到中段重型急激的交戰局面最後演變成夢幻般的境界，是首極其美麗的Epic作品，《If I Never Come Back》和《Dance Of Death》不約而同用上電子節奏，但各有味道，前者是短暫的迷幻小品，後者則瀰漫著沉鬱不歡的傷神。

音樂以外，《This Is The New》由樂隊成員Djohan Johari負責設計，用上舊式書本的車線包裝，可說是近年最花心機的Post-Rock封面設計。(中文介紹由 WHITE NOISE 提供)

toe is a Japanese music group. While mentioned in many post-rock circles, their song structure and dynamics are similar to many popular math rock artists.

Toe is comprised of Kashikura Takashi on drums, Mino Takaaki on guitar, Yamane Satoshi on bass guitar, and Yamazaki Hirokazu on guitar. Toe has formally played with this line-up since the band’s inception in 2000.

The vast majority of the music is instrumental and features the swift and acute drumming of Takashi. The band is also known for its melodic, clean guitar settings. Additionally, the compositions have repetition from typical rock motifs, but use very subtle changes in beat and rhythm to form a unique sound. The band has changed their sound over their musical tenure by incorporating acoustic guitars, rhodes piano, and vibraphones in their most recent releases.

The band tours regularly in Japan, and can most notably be compared to acts such as Pele and The Album Leaf.

自那跨世紀的後搖滾經典代表作《Agatis Byrjun》問世後，當年與他們並列後搖天團的「Godspeed You Black Emperor！」已悄然消聲，留給席格若斯敞大舞台表演。席格若斯維持三年出一張全新專輯的速度，這回更是藉世界巡演之故，順道完成錄音工程，也是該團首次離開雷克雅維克錄音的專輯。從紐約的Sear sound studios、倫敦的Assault and Battery studios及Abbey road錄音室、古巴的哈瓦那，繞了世界半圈後，再回家鄉雷克雅維克的Alafoss錄音。吸取了異鄉流浪感，讓這張專輯產生了幾分新鮮感。

首曲主打歌〈Gobbledigook〉放送著暴雨將至的猛拍狂擊，儼然拋下席格若斯擅長的冰冷派音樂，搭上由杜可風擔任攝影的MV影像，畫面中全裸的男女們盡情奔跑用力嬉鬧，徹底呼應專輯原名概念。次曲〈Inni mer syngur vitleysingur〉一樣輕盈，猶如軍樂曲般地高亢激昂拍奏，配上豐沛的管絃樂編制，是專輯中最大器的曲子。

正當樂迷擔心席格若斯這次新專輯怎這麼不像過去專輯時，第三曲〈Goean daginn〉前奏一落，隨即讓樂迷溫習起他們最擅長的慢板溫柔情歌。第五首〈Festival〉是專輯中最長的曲子，長達九分鐘，讓他們表演了後搖滾範體，如詩篇的華麗與憂鬱並具。

該曲前半段寂靜如子夜星辰，過了4分40秒後才放送鼓點，一波又一波地堆砌激情，但他們沒忘了節制的美感，只在最後一分半瘋狂加速，從吉他到小號全以高分貝放送。〈Festival〉可視為專輯的分水嶺，上半場多半以快板歌曲為主，下半場後面六首歌則偏昔日丰采，以憂愁系慢板歌曲為主，曲曲瑰麗首首寂寞。經歷十年多來的時間洗禮，席格若斯能在這張專輯更上一層樓，更讓人驚嘆冰島音樂的旺盛創作性。（文字來源：EMI）

The title Songs to Sing in A&E isn't simply a reference to Jason Pierce's chords of choice on this, the sixth album from Spiritualized. Rather, it's a blackly comic reference to the events that preceded this album's creation--specifically, a bout of pneumonia that saw Pierce fighting for his life from a hospital bed. Spiritualized, however, have always specialised in transforming personal travails into great art, and there's something morbidly compelling about a song like "Death Takes Your Fiddle", a chilly blues song accompanied by the wheeze of an artificial respirator.

There may be some unfortunate repercussions from Pierce's illness: his voice sounds somewhat frail in comparison to the brave soul we found on 1997's Ladies and Gentlemen, We Are Floating in Space, and this rather seems to expose occasional shortcomings in his lyrics (to follow a song called "I Gotta Fire" with "Soul on Fire" and then "Sitting on Fire" suggests wells of inspiration may be running low). One thing's for sure, though, Pierce is a fine arranger. Lush strings, choirs and flourishes of percussion flesh out simple acoustic songs into impressive symphonies. Meanwhile, "Yeah Yeah" proves Pierce still has a way with an itchy, strung-out blues stomp. (Louis Pattison, amazon.com)

日本Heavy Rock三人組Boris2008年最新專輯，重歸原始Heavy Rock路線，不玩最擅長的Drone氣氛，也不玩Doom黑暗，全部是直截了當的重型搖滾曲式。

Boris brings the noise. The big-time noise. Like fellow Japanese-rock monoliths Boredoms and Ghost, Boris trafficks in cathartically ear-splitting psych-rock. In fact, Ghost's face-shredding guitarist Michio Kurihara, who is no stranger to collaborating with Boris, guests on Smile. So does Stephen O'Malley of Sunn O))), who runs Southern Lord records. O'Malley adds guitar to a spooky untitled track, which would be the scariest thing on the album if there wasn't also a song by the name of "My Neighbor Satan." Do not let that dude over when he comes to the door asking to borrow a cup of sugar.

Obliq has been around since the spring of 2005. After releasing 2 singles during 2006 Obliq wanted to create something bigger. About one year ago they went into Nacksving Studios Göteborg to meet the producers Isak Edh and Dan Viktor to plan for the coming year. The decision was made to make a full album. With creativity at its highest, lyrics, songs, and melodies came together as pieces in a puzzle. People around them began to show an interest and some major names in swedish music wanted to help.

Among the crowd is the first single from our debut-album. Recorded at Nacksving Studios June - July 2007. Released November 22nd. Produced by Isak Edh and Obliq. Vocals produced by Dan Viktor. Among the crowd remix made by Paul Lachenardière from Universal Poplab and Anderas Saag.

Ef這支由Tomas Torsson、Claes Strängberg、Jonatan Hammar、Mikael Hillergård 與 Niklas Åström組成的五人樂團，2003年成立於瑞典哥德堡，透過自行發行的幾首試聽帶與一張七寸單曲，從容大氣的曲風，時時閃現的靈氣使得一些音樂廠牌和樂迷們開始注意到他們。到06年的8月份，樂團終於儲備足夠的能量出版第一張專輯－《give me beauty...or give me death!》。整個樂器編制包括三把吉他、弓、很多效果器、風琴、鐵琴、大提琴、手提電腦、口風琴與小喇叭，那麼多的樂器為的是以音樂說出他們心目中最美好的故事。

專輯名字已經充分表達出他們希望音樂傳達的精神、意境，唯美哀傷的旋律伴隨激情澎湃的電吉他音牆，氣氛轉折的把握以一支新樂團而言已經非常難能可貴了，可以充分感受到當中的細膩鋪陳，在俗套的後搖架構中提煉出可供細味的情感，偶然牽動出靈光乍現的樂詩，在寂靜與轟烈聲響間散發黑暗與光明當中無盡的曖昧變化。這樣子的音樂內蘊也延續到最新專輯《I Am Responsible》。這次還特別邀請同胞電子音樂家Patrick Torsson助陣，感覺聲音層次更豐富了，也難怪他們的歐洲的知名度已經越來越高。

沒有大唱片公司鋪天蓋地的宣傳，獨立樂團靠的只有實力、還有努力！去年Ef馬不停蹄到歐洲各地巡迴演出累積人氣，並且有機會參與歐洲多個大型音樂節，包括比利時的Music In Mind、荷蘭的Virus、德國的Pilot 跟Pop Up，還有丹麥的Formanova音樂節等，我深信以他們目前的音樂爆發力，未來將會有更海闊天空的發展。

LIP THAT WOULD KISS / THE DURUTTI COLUMN
This remastered CD collects together a selection of key tracks and singles recorded for Factory Benelux, Les Disques du Crepuscule and Sordide Sentimental between 1980 and 1983, including the pristine singles Lips That Would Kiss (recorded with legendary producer Martin Hannett) and Danny, and the rare Factory Benelux 12" EP from 1982, Deux Triangles. The set also includes several unique tracks recorded for Crepuscule compilation albums, and no less than nine tracks from the unreleased 1983 album Short Stories For Pauline, several of which feature Tuxedomoon man Blaine L. Reininger on violin.

FIDELITY / THE DURUTTI COLUMN
First released by Les Disques du Crepuscule in April 1996, Fidelity features ten tracks written and performed by Vini Reilly, with occasional guest vocals by Elli Rudge. In addition to Vini's trademark guitar style, the album also features sleek programmed beats and synth textures. The CD also features one bonus track, My Only Love, originally issued in 1995 on a free CD with Total Guitar magazine. The booklet includes background notes, and the text of the original press release.

CIRCUSES & BREAD / THE DURUTTI COLUMN
Circuses & Bread was originally released on the Factory Benelux label in April 1986, and features ten tracks written and performed by Vini Reilly, together with drummer Bruce Mitchell. This expanded CD edition also features ten bonus tracks including compilation album tracks Verbier and The Aftermath, five previously unreleased tracks from the cancelled 1983 album Short Stories For Pauline, and the rarely heard 1983 single I Get Along Without You Very Well, a Hoagy Carmichael cover sung by Lindsay Reade and dedicated to her former husband, Anthony H. Wilson. The booklet restores the original cover design by 8vo.

LIVE IN BRUXELLES 13.8.1981
Live In Bruxelles comprises a complete live performance by Vini Reilly and Bruce Mitchell at the Place de la Monnaie (Muntplein) in Brussels, Belgium, together with a lengthy after-show chat with Vini. The ten song live set contains DC favourites such as Conduct and Sketch for Summer, as well as several rarely heard numbers including Stains, Danny and Messidor. The attractive booklet for this digitally remastered CD includes extracts from the original event programme, as well as background notes and archive images.

融合自省個人唸白與多元折衷的後搖/電子音樂風格,來自加拿大Saskatchewan的SOSO,已成為當前先鋒嘻哈與art rap運動中一個不容忽略的名字。

Soso delivers fragile vocal melodies and close, confessional lyrics over an assemblage of field recordings, electronic bleeps, programmed drums and sprawling instrumentation evocative of My Bloody Valentine and Do Make Say Think. Additional contributions from Maki and Scott Da Ros add punch to the lovely melodic soundscapes. Tinfoil on the Windows challenges typical genre conventions and soso treads this unfamiliar ground with crafty song writing and integrity.

Miaou接受音樂網站The Silent Ballet的訪問

1999年成立於東京，以三人為一體的Miaou與一眾新掘起的日本後搖樂隊一樣在默默做著變革，他們沒有像mono般衝出日本，卻一直緊守崗位，吸納著西方後搖的精神，卻注入東方的細膩表達手法。Miaou的作品沒有大喜大悲的戲劇段落，感情卻在緩緩流動，你可以感受到樂隊那種勇敢正面，卻又不失客觀抽離的世界觀。玩著這些沒有包袱的音樂，沒有要跟誰拼個你死我活，沒有要向那位大師致敬的亦步亦趨，更沒有Let's get rock and roll的盲目激情，原來日本後搖也可以如斯風光明媚, 2008年Miaou將到台灣演出，敬請期待！！ http://www.myspace.com/miaoumusic

很高興在Jeniferever、Sickoakes以及Library Tapes之後，今天還能聽見Immanu El這麼令人欣喜的瑞典後搖樂隊；Under your wings i'll hide這首長達10分鐘的傑作已是近年少見的Post-Rock沉長詩篇，優美感傷的旋律、緊緊相扣的吉他、貝斯與鼓點，揭開了「They'll Come, They Come」這張2007年最值得關注的樂隊處男專輯的序幕。來自瑞典新音樂重鎮Gothenburg的五人樂隊Immanu El，最初直叫人聯想起去年的 Jeniferever、Library Tapes等人；他們的音樂裡廣泛地吸納了Post-Rock、Soundscape等較為低限、緩飄的素材，再加上主音歌手Claes Strängberg那逼近Sigur Rós空靈脫俗的唱腔，委實動人。專輯裡如Home、Astral Days等幾首歌曲，都帶有冰島樂隊那一份不食人間煙火的孤絕與清寂氣氛。(Boyethan)
