溫柔擁抱所有哀傷淚滴
"The Saddest Place on Earth 傷心異境" 是個有關蒐集地球淚滴故事的展覧。來自新加坡的手創人Mimipong很榮幸能於2009年10月把這個“傷心異境”拓至澳門的精緻人文空間﹣﹣邊度有書展出,舉辦為期一個月的澳門展。
"傷心異境,地球淚滴故事集" 的構想,由水藍色的絨毛布偶開始。Mimipong創作的 "Hug Your Sorrow 淚滴娃娃" 化作落在地球上的點點淚滴,讓在世界各地生活、游走的人,面對哀傷、書寫哀傷、溫柔擁抱哀傷。心底淌過的淚獲釋,遺留在密藏某處的傷心異境,讓每個勇敢的人不再受困於哀傷之中。 澳門展的淚滴娃娃首次以中文詮釋哀傷,親切貼近創作人,並特別限量推出新款設計。與此同時,Mimipong與邊度有書全新邀請25位分別來自澳門、葡國、日本、台灣等地人士參展。他們雖是素人或來自不同範疇,從事藝術創作、時裝設計、教師、酒吧、西餅店等不同工作,但是通過書寫與擁抱,讓這些生於廝長於廝或漂泊他鄉的澳門人,還有當地異鄉人的哀傷故事都有了終結的出口。


展覧以手寫記錄,在標籤上書寫哀傷並以 "流淚了" 為完結。展出作品中有的寓意深遠,有的抒發文人情懷,例如凝望大三巴而感嘆落淚的建築師梁頌燊、懷抱受傷落難國家的店長Pedro、滿是詩意而深藏不露的翁譙,與來自香港的音樂才女Pancakes、創造Treeson的知名玩具設計師Bubi Au Yeung,以及新加坡媒體創意人楊君偉、趙琬儀及Sokkuan等作品交流分享,觀看生活在澳門、香港及新加坡小角落的他們,如何把各自所關切的事物表現在作品裡。這些對照,是有趣的。無聲的淚滴娃娃也因為這些獨特詮釋有了情緒與表情,讓記憶中的哀傷淚滴也能閃閃發光。

THE SADDEST PLACE ON EARTH VISITS MACAU
An exhibition on Plushes and Sorrow This October, Singaporean design collective Mimipong will showcase their Hug Your Sorrow plush toys in a month-long exhibition. Titled The Saddest Place on Earth visits Macau, it will be held at Pinto Musica.
The Saddest Place on Earth visits Macau is a collaborative effort between Pinto Livros and Mimipong’s successful line of tear dolls together with creative professionals from Macau, Hong Kong and Singapore. The writers – selected from a diverse range of backgrounds – were invited to pen their unique interpretations of sadness on the dolls’ cloth tags which has been translated into traditional chinese from the original english tag. This exhibition is made possible by Singapore based chinese copy-writer and journalist, mr. Capricorn, who aided with all the copy translation and direction for the show.Among the luminaries participating in The Saddest Place on Earth are critically acclaimed Hong Kong's indie songstress The Pancakes, Hong Kong-based toy designer of popular Treeson vinyl figures Bubi Auyong as well as Singapore's theatre director and the author of 5 publications, Danny Yeo. On the homegrown front, the exhibition features Macau's Fine Artist Bianca Lei, writer of travel guide Macau Nohohon's Misa Katawa, architect and founder of OH-MYSTORE's Ryan Leong, Sonia Lao from dream-pop band Evade and many more.

Hug Your Sorrow tear dolls are a conceptual plush creation of Mimipong. Featuring an assortment of embroidered features, each tear plush allows the user to jot down his or her most intimate miseries on an embroidered tag before giving the doll a big hug of comfort. These plush tears, fulfilling the basic function of plush toy as comfort objects in moments of despair, are a winning entry in Next Big Thing 2008, USA's Fred Flare’s annual design competition and are sold across the United States by Kidrobot, a premier creator and retailer of designer toys. The Saddest Place on Earth visits Macau is the second show by Mimipong after their first successful attempt held in Singapore's BooksActually.
The exhibition runs from 1 October 2009 to 31 October 2009 at Pinto Musica, 2B, Veng Heng Largo do Senado 31, and is open to all art and plush enthusiasts. On sale at the exhibition will be Hug Your Sorrow tear dolls, postcards, pins and exhibition cataglog featuring the compilation of all the works. Also premiering are 2 exclusively designed Tear dolls for the Macau show.
