這些年來，台商利用大陸廉價工資與土地，成為全球最大代工廠，如今，中國大陸透過制度與全球接軌，不太需要台商了，台灣必須建立新的發展策略，過去以出口為導向的模式非調整不可。

面對中國的崛起，台商應如何應變呢？他提出二個方法，一是「抬轎者」，積極參與中國的全球化，成為中國全球化的一員，分享中國全球化的果實，以彌補在台灣方面遭受的損害；二是「跳車者」，即設法轉移陣營，避開中國所擅長生產的商品，避免與其爭鋒，將帥跳到另一個較先進的市場，生產中國不具相對優勢的產品，以獲取貿易條件改善的利益。

他強調，無論「抬轎者」或「跳車者」，都是由台灣原始加工出口產業演化而來。如果把兩岸生產體系合併考量，台商在取得中國資源以後其實是壯大了，市場占有率提高且技術力增強，上下游整合更完備。在接任經建會主委後，陳添枝能為台灣產業的走向與全球布局端出什麼新菜，應是值得期待的。

This means she must make, or abet Republican attacks in making, (that)Mr Obama seem unelectable.
