Visit our old house重返舊家
這是小時候在霧峰的舊家

We visited my parents in Taichung last weekend. We went back to Wu-Fong Village where I lived in from 1 to 10 years old.
Taking Neona and Meng-Yu back there and seeing it for the first time after 24 years meant a lot to me. Things around the house are very different from years ago, but I am glad this old house is still there.
This town was also severely damaged by the earthquake 6 years ago. Some of the buildings in our old community collapsed.

The old school I went to was rebuilt too. I told Neona that this was the school Mommy went to. We took a picture together.

I nearly dropped my jaw when I saw this---I grew up in the same town. I spent the first 8 yrs of my life there. I went to the same elementary school! My dad was a teacher in there! I still remember every teacher and the principal. I remember every corner in the school, in that town...I can't imagine the odds of re-connecting my childhood memory through someone who is now an ocean apart from me. Even if we became very close while you were in Seattle, I don't think I would find out this connection...not until you got the chance to revisit your 'old home' with NaNa...

To Niccolo_Seattle: Wow, what a co-incidence. If your dad taught there, maybe we have more connection than simply Seattle and a school. Imagine that your dad might have taught one of my sisters!! It's very interesting that you have found my Blog.
