你Carbon Neutral嗎?

"Carbon Neutral"今年被牛津出版社選為"年度新字". 請看Carbon Neutral: Oxford Word of the Year.



這果然印證了大家對出版界充滿了白目左派的懷疑. 另一個好例子是"NYC's Artists-in-Residence" 曼哈頓竟有許多地區有超過20%的居民從事 arts, design, entertainment, sports 等行業, 再加上佔人口多數的project housing及 rent control 的低收入少數族裔, 及既得利益者. 也難怪右派在曼哈頓很難拿超過20%的選票.

"Carbon Offsetting"事實上對你們這些以保護地球為己任的"環保人士"們, 你們這些鄙視我們右派"破壞地球母親", 卻又自己不斷排出"溫室氣體"的左派們, 是一個大好的消息, 因為你們可以不用上吊就可以減輕自己戕害地球母親的罪孽. 你們只要在這個網站(Calculate Your Carbon Footprint)上算出自己一家人的"溫室氣體"排放量,接著再到這個網站(Carbon Emissions Offset) 上找一個環保公益組織連結, 然後你就可以每年根據妳家的溫室氣體排放量(Carbon Footprint)來付那組織一筆錢去"抵銷"你們的"罪孽". 這像不像中世紀的贖罪卷? (我一家需要約$800美金一年來"贖罪", just in case you wondered). 如果你真的有心, 就像中世紀善良的人民所做的一樣, 也請替妳們所愛的人(父母, 兄弟姊妹, 好朋友)一起買"贖罪卷"吧!

左派們, 地球需要你們的支持. 請以身作則, "action is much louder than words".

If I donate $ to 環保公益組織, will they actually use the fund to help the enviornment, or they just lobby?

That calculation table is pretty lame. Does that mean if I burn wood in the fireplace/woodstove, I would contribute nothing to the global warming? And how about those family who use windpower as the source of electricity? How does it contribute to the carbon dioxide emission?

From the business point of view, we call them "overhead"; from the conservative's point of view, we call them "bloodsuckers", whose only role is to consume. Actually, I take that back, they at least help moving the money around, by attenuating it along the way.
