1955年5月14日史上第一首 Rock N Roll 歌曲登上 Billboard 單曲榜榜首﹐並且停留在冠軍位置達8個星期﹐此曲便是Bill Haley & The Comets 主唱的 (We’re Gonna) Rock Around The Clock ﹐這也揭開了Rock N Roll音樂的序幕。

2005年正藉慶祝搖滾樂50週年﹐於是華納便推出了這套10集﹑每集一小時的5張History Of Rock And Roll DVD Boxset。其實雖名為50年﹐不過華納只是把一套由Quincy Jones於1995年所出品的 Documentary重新包裝推出﹐因此近10年音樂歷史上的巨大轉變險奉﹐故此套Boxset實在有點欠缺完整性。
