數月前筆者也曾介紹過 Doris Day ﹐一位筆者很喜歡的40-60年代的女歌手﹐嗓子優美﹐卻沒有 Connie Francis的甜膩。Doris的歌曲常帶點Jazz味道﹐至於演唱Standard也有她的個人風格﹐故這張Doris Day Christmas Album便是我的其中一張至愛耶誕歌集。

Doris Day Christmas Album專輯於1964年出版﹐當時只收錄9首歌曲﹐與現今CD的編排一樣﹐不過筆者購買的黑膠唱片﹐是1976年再版﹐輯錄的曲目與封套設計應是跟隨日本CBS/Sony ﹐故歌曲方面便多收錄3首﹐成為一張12曲的唱片。

Silver Bells ﹕作於1950年﹐為電影The Lemon Drop Kid的插曲﹐由Bob Hope與 Marilyn Maxwell合唱。作曲人 Jay與作詞人Ray為最佳拍擋﹐他們合作的名曲還有
Dinah Shore的Button & Bows (1949) ﹑Nat King Cole的Mona Lisa (1950) ﹑ Doris Day的Que Sera Sera (1956) 及 Debbie Reynolds的Tammy (1957) 等。

Let It Snow! Let It Snow! Let It Snow! : 作於1945年﹐Sammy Cahn還有其他著名詞作如改編成為英文版給Andrew Sisters唱的Bei Mir Bist Du Schon (1937) ﹑Four Aces的Three Coins In The Fountain (1954) ﹑Frank Sinatra的Teach Me Tonight (1955) 等。而Jule Styne是移居美國的英國人﹐天才的他曾為20th Century Fox及 Paramount效力﹐成為Hollywood重要的作曲家。
