來自兩張80年代筆者購買的耶誕歌曲黑膠唱片合輯﹐分別是EMI的“The EMI Christmas Collection ” 及CBS/Sony的“Golden Christmas Album ”。

當年唱片在世界各地都發展蓬勃﹐也不像現在各唱片公司為吸引消費者而相互交換歌曲版權做一張合輯﹐所以精選的歌曲都會局限於一間唱片公司﹐或是一個大唱片集團旗下各唱片Label的歌曲。

EMI主要收錄的都是60-70年代的歌曲﹐縱使會有來自美國的Kenny Rogers ﹑The Beach Boys或加拿大的Anne Murray ﹐專輯方面仍比較英國化。

Happy X’mas (War Is Over) ﹕John Lennon 同Yoko Ono的歌曲﹐1972年12月初只能攀上英國單曲榜第4位﹐不過以後差不多每張 John Lennon精選都收錄此曲。原來耶誕歌曲不只局限耶穌降生﹑聖誕老人﹑白雪降臨﹐題材也開始涉及戰爭與和平的事情。

Golden Christmas Album由CBS/Sony出版﹐轉眼之間已是20多個年頭的事﹐至今CBS/Sony已經經歷過 Columbia到現今的Sony BMG朝代了。收錄的歌曲就比較美國代及集中在50-60年代的錄音。
