筆者認識 Gerry & Pacemakers 的歌曲是較為後期的 ﹐早期聽舊歌是喜歡買合輯﹐因為比較省錢﹐而且合輯中精選的歌曲也多。

不過精選合輯聽多以後﹐就會想從某一位歌手或某一個樂團開始﹐對他們多一點認識﹐這會從他們的個人精選唱片開始﹐然後再轉到原裝專輯中﹐這是我音樂歷程中經常出現的現象。60年代的音樂不是不能感動我﹐只是40/50年代的歌曲對我來說更有魅力﹐1984年﹐EMI 是旗下一個 Music For Pleasure (MFP) 的Label 發行了一張 The Very Best Of Gerry & The Pacemakers / 16 Super Tracks 的精選﹐當中有12首流行代表作﹐還多收了4首 Unreleased Tracks。之後在90年代發行了CD Version﹐又多收了4首歌。

Unreleased Tracks 在外國是經常見到的事﹐因為許多歌曲因為未能達到監制或歌星的要求而被棄用﹐或是陰差陽錯的情況下被遺忘了﹐之後唱片公司在錄音室翻箱倒櫃才會發現寶藏﹐於是1984年的一張 Gerry & Pacemakers 就有四首未曾曝光的歌曲﹐它們包括了Come Back to Me﹑When Oh When﹑Give All Your Love To Me 及Hallelujah I Love Her So﹐都是在 Abbey Road Studio 發現的。
