回看60年代的樂隊﹐其實當年他們發片也頗頻密的﹐除了Single 及 Album 之外﹐在英國他們還有 EP (Extended Play)﹐就是比一張單曲唱片兩首歌﹐還要再多兩首﹐若 Single 收錄了罕有 B Side 歌﹐但是 EP 一樣有這機會。

於是2004年 EMI 就為旗下60年代好些Artists 發行了一個“A's B'S & EP's”系列﹐收錄了這些 A/B Side 及 EP 歌曲﹐其中一款就包括了 Gerry & Pacemakers﹐不過收錄的只是較為流行的部份﹐雖然如此﹐也總比甚麼一般 Greatest Hits 或 The Very Best 來得更有意思。

除了 You’ll Never Walk Alone 及 Don’t Let The Sun Catch You Crying 之外﹐I’ll Be There 就是筆者最喜歡 Gerry & Pacemakers 的第3首歌曲。I’ll Be There 是他們1965年的單曲﹐在英國取得流行榜第15位﹐美國則得到Billboard第14位﹐不過 Gerry & Pacemakers 只屬翻唱﹐但是他們比原唱 Bobby Darin 演繹得更好。

I’ll Be There 本由 Bobby Darin 原唱﹐也是他自作自受的創作﹐他的演繹在發音1過於咬字清楚﹐猶如香港70年代的歌星羅文。

I’ll Be There - Bobby Darin﹕灌錄於1959年﹐原是“Bill Bailey”(1960/Atco) 單曲的 B Side﹐其後又收錄於“Things and Other Things” (1962/Atco) 專輯中。

Walk Hand In Hand 是筆者最喜歡的 Gerry & Pacemakers 的第4首歌曲﹐Gerry Marsden 演繹安慰心靈的歌曲﹐總有他的魅力。原唱是Ronnie Carroll (1956/Philips)﹐得到英國流行榜第13位﹐不過令到此曲風行的卻是 Tony Martin (1956/RCA)﹐得到美國Billboard 第10位。

Walk Hand in Hand﹕原收錄於“Walk Hand In Hand”(1965/EMI Columbia) 單曲中﹐得到英國流行榜第29位。
