1980年﹐ John Lennon 被狂徒槍殺﹐舉世震驚﹐這也令到樂迷對於 Beatles 重組的幻想徹底破滅了。

可是1981年﹐一首 Stars On 45 的 Beatles Medley風行世界﹐不單開始了串燒歌的熱潮﹐而且令到Beatles 歌曲仿彿重現在現實世界裡﹐歌曲不單在英國取得亞軍位置﹐而美國更是坐穩冠軍﹐於是這個熱潮也催生了由原裝Beatles 歌曲剪接而成的 Beatles Movie Medley 及之後的Elvis Medley (1982/RCA)。

Beatles Movie Medley 由多首曾出現過於 Beatles 電影的歌曲而成﹐這包括了Magical Mystery Tour﹑All You Need Is Love﹑You've Got to Hide Your Love Away﹑I Should Have Known Better﹑A Hard Day's Night﹑Ticket to Ride 及 Get Back。不過這批歌曲﹐既然說是電影插曲﹐倒不如是 Simply Beatles Songs 會更貼題﹐因為他們根本毫無插曲味道。

Beatles Movie Medley 首先由 Capitol 在美國出版﹐發行日期為1982年3月22日﹐可惜成績反不及 Stars On 45﹐只得到Billboard 第12位。至於英國方面﹐Parlophone 本來拒絕出版﹐然而因為樂迷反應熱烈﹐需要大量進口版﹐於是他們也只得正式於5月出版﹐然而也只得到英國流行榜第10位而已。

至於 Beatles Movie Medley 的 B side 是I'm Happy just To Dance With You﹐是取自“A Hard Day’s Night”(1964/Parlophone) 專輯的歌曲﹐它也曾是美國單曲“I’ll Cry Instead”(1964/Capitol) 的 B Side。
