The Beatles & Tony Sheridan’s Polydor Singles (1961-1964)
The Beatles 於1961年2月由德國重返 Liverpool 表演﹐雖然他們沒有再得到灌錄唱片的機會﹐但是卻得到唱片店老闆Brian Epstein 的注意﹐而 Brian不單成為The Beatles 成員的經理人﹐也影響了這四位成員的一生。
1962年﹐The Beatles 成功取得 EMI 的 Parlophone 唱片合約﹐推出了首張單曲 Love Me Do﹐雖然反應不算熱烈﹐但是緊接著 Please Please Me 獲得流行榜亞軍之後﹐往後一連串的單曲都屬冠陣軍之作﹐聲勢更洶湧登陸美利堅﹐於是Tony Sheridan 經常重錄主音部份﹐把那些找 The Beatles 伴奏的錄音再度推出﹐而Polydor 也於1964年把他們合作的兩個 Sessions﹐在德國及英國以單曲發行﹐又不時更換 A 或 B Side﹑推出多張EP 及 LP﹐故此這部份單曲非常混亂﹐聽說當中真的由 The Beatles 成員參與的﹐只有8首歌而已﹐然而除了 My Bonnie / The Sain’ts早期得到不錯成績之外﹐其他單曲雖然在 The Beatles 熱潮中推出﹐但是成績卻是強差人意﹐但是這批錄音還未有 Ringo Starr 的出現。
Why 灌錄於1961年﹐由 Tony Sheridan 擔任主唱﹐不過可聽到John﹑Paul 及George的合音。Why 在推出單曲時成為 A Side﹐可是後來因為 The Beatles 火紅﹐故此又把 B Side 的 Beatles 純音樂Cry For A Shadow﹐改為 A Side 再發行﹐至於在美國則由 MGM 發行﹐登上 Billboard 第88位。Cry For A Shadow 屬於 Shadows 樂隊式的曲風﹐由 George Harrison 及 John Lennon 共同創作﹐是非常罕有的合作。

你對這系列別期望過高﹐那失望會更大的。 :)
我覺得 George Harrison 在 Beatles 中的鋒芒不及 John 及 Paul﹐不過我有些朋友就情有獨鍾 George。
至於 Ringo﹐除了Yellow Submarine﹐With A Little Help From My Friends 之外﹐他的成就就是四人之中的重要性是最低的了。我對他並不瞭解﹐但表面上算是傻有傻福吧。

Dear Muzikland,
你說漏了一首Love Me Do呀......也是Ringo Starr主唱的。
他在樂隊拆夥後推出的首支個人作品It Don't Come Easy，剛面世時是頗受歡迎的，尤其是該曲的一段前奏電結他solo部份，是當時的初階主音結他新手必修的科目，哈哈，只是他本人無以為繼罷了。

"Love me do"是John Lennon 和 Paul McCartney合唱,當John Lennon吹口琴時就由Paul 唱.

現在有四個版本出了CD, 最為人熟識的是在"Please, please me"CD內, 是由一位叫Andy White 的session drummer打鼓, Ringo 負責tambourine.
另一個版本是Ringo 打鼓的, 在"Past Masters volume one"CD找到,亦是上述youtubeMTV的版本.
第三個是由Pete Best打鼓, 是The Beatles在EMI試音時灌錄的版本,於'The Beatles Anthology volume one'找到.
最後一個是在"Live at the BBC"CD內,由Ringo打鼓的版本.

Maninov4u 說得對啊﹐那是 John 及 Paul 的聲音﹐不難分出來啊﹐因為 Love Me Do 單曲推出前錄了三個版本﹐Ringo 差點兒沒份兒參與呢。
至於 Ringo﹐我對他的留意﹐比 George 還要少﹐有時也覺得就算Beatles 沒有他也沒所謂﹐就像1964年 Beatles 來香港開演唱會﹐他也沒有來呢。那麼除了首張單飛作品之後﹐你還有買 Ringo的唱片嗎﹖數年前﹐我見到有一張 Ringo 的精選﹐本來也想買來聽聽﹐後來又是不了了之。

你真的料事如神, 被飛羊兄一問我真的有點不知所措, 說實話我對於打鼓及彈結他一點也不懂, 只愛聽及欣賞, The BEATLES 四位成員可說是天作之合, 各司其職, 早期的合作更是如魚得水, 不會為了爭風而出現不和, 早期John 和 Paul 為牡丹, George 和 Ringo是綠葉,到了成名後數年才開始出現問題. 其實早期的Beatles各人的技藝並非十分超群, 但四人一起便產生了化學作用,成為一隊永垂不朽的樂隊. 在Beatles後期的George Harrison更寫出了While my guitar gently weeps, Something, Here comes the sun等不朽名曲, 所以他其實亦是一個極有才華的音樂人,只不過John 和Paul實在是少有的天才, 令其他人很難與其兩人比較. Ringo Starr 似是最弱的一個, 但如果Beatles四個隊員都天才橫溢, 便會像一些超級樂隊如Cream, CSNY等只合作了一段短時期便拆伙.那裡還有這麼多經典作品呢.

其實Beatles 的鋒芒都落在 Paul 與 John 的身上﹐George 算是很忍讓的一位﹐至於 Ringo 則無所謂吧﹐所以這隊樂隊雖然影響後世﹐但是真真正正錄音的時間才10年而已﹐不過也如你所說﹐若四人都天才橫溢﹐那 Beatles 可能會更短命。
談及早期的 Beatles﹐我覺得只是一隊普通的“靚仔 (黃毛小子) Band”而已﹐若論成熟還是要待 Yesterday 及中期以後的發展﹐這時期的發展﹐令他們成為了經典的樂隊。
想請教 maninov4u 兄﹐為何許多人都覺得 Cream 與 CSNY 都是經典呢﹖雖然我也認識部份成員的名字﹐就如 Eric Clapton 就很有著名了﹐但是其他人的單飛成績﹐除了部份如 Neil Young 有“量”之外﹐我又沒怎發現他們有甚麼很大熱的作品啊。又或者他們對後來的 Band與樂手都有影響力﹐但比起 Beatles﹑ Rolling Stones 等﹐似乎又只是小巫見大巫﹐我是有點不明白呢。

我認為呢D叫做吹捧,當有一些在社會或某個界別上有些有名氣的人一起合作做一件事, 不論是音樂, 電影或受公眾矚目的事, 都會引起哄動. 如Cream 的Eric Claption, 因在While my guitar gently weeps 彈了中段的guitar solo, 當他與Ginger Baker 和Jack Bruce組成Cream時, 便成了人們渴望的超級樂隊. CSNY也一樣,David Crosby (The Byrds), Steven Stills 和 Neil Young (Buffalo Springfield), Graham Nash (the Hollies)都是來自有名的樂隊, 所以當佢地走在一起時, 人們便有一個期望將會有好的作品面世, 但結果反應只是一般. 究其原因我想是他們是成了名才在一起, 有了自己的ego, 不像早期Beatles是從無到有, 所以Beatles成名後, 隊員之間的合作便開始有問題, 因各自有了ego.

哈﹐你的形容﹐我是打從心底得到認同。
我雖然聽不同類型的音樂﹐但是也不是盡懂﹐或者認識所有樂隊/樂手。或許有些唱片出版時﹐我根本沒留意﹐可是數10 年後﹐許多名字都被劃成經典﹐但是我心裡卻在想﹐到底經典在那裡﹖
較為表面去看就是根據流行榜的成績﹐當然也有許多名字沒有打上流行榜﹐其作品也影響後世﹐然而那些既在流行榜稱霸﹑歌曲又流行到大眾都耳熟能詳的﹐不也一樣影響後世嗎﹖豈不是更厲害嗎﹖這就是我的想法。所以好些經典名字﹐我曾嘗試去接觸去聽﹐不過確實引不起我的共鳴﹐有些Big Name出版了許多唱片﹐但是真正令人記得的﹐實在又有多少首歌曲呢﹖當然這情況有有兩個可能﹐其一是被人太吹捧﹐其二就是我太膚淺囉~
