Ruggles Of Red Gap 這張專輯比較特別﹐因為它不是一套音樂劇﹐它是一張 TV Programme 的 Soundtrack。

Ruggles Of Red Gap 本來是1915年由 Harry Leon Wilson 所寫的小說﹐不過同年已被搬上了舞台﹐可是並不成功﹐只演了33場便結束了﹐不過其後卻數度被拍成電影﹐尤以1935年的版本最為著名﹐其後於1957年又拍成一個90分鐘的電視版本﹐在 NBC 播映﹐由 Leo Robin 及 Jule Styne 負責詞曲的創作。這張專輯本由 Verve 於1957年發行﹐不過乃是節目播完之後才灌錄。

除了 Soundtrack 中的14首歌曲之外﹐這CD也收錄了13首 Bonus Track﹐以 Bonus Track 來計算﹐這數量實在很多。因為 Soundtrack 中, 著名歌星/影星Jane Powell 參與 Clementine 一角﹐於是附送的13首歌曲皆是 Jane 的錄音﹐這包括 Can’t We Be Friends (1956/Verve) 專輯中的歌曲及單曲What Gives? What Goes? (1956/Verve)。
Jane Powell (1929- )﹐早於40年代已拍電影﹐15歲時因為首套電影Song of the Open Road (1944) 擔演 Jane Powell 一角﹐MGM 即取之為她的藝名﹐她最為人熟識的電影要算是“脂粉七雄”Seven Brides for Seven Brothers (1954)﹐而Ruggles Of Red Gap乃是她參演的首套電視劇。

Let's Face The Music And Dance - Jane Powell (Edited Short Version)﹕原是電影Follow the Fleet (1936) 的歌曲﹐由 Fred Astaire 所唱﹐其後有無數人翻唱。80年代﹐德國歌手 Taco 參賽東京音樂節而在亞洲成名﹐他主唱的歌曲都具有濃濃的懷舊味道﹐Let's Face The Music And Dance (1984/RCA) 便是他在香港曾流行一時的歌曲。
