Sarah Brightman - La Luna
另一方面﹐繼上一次選唱了Dust In The Wind外﹐這次選來Scarborough Fair ﹐還有現代作品Here With Me ﹐使到專輯更具現代化。

Winter In July
(T. Simenon / G. Sigsworth / L. Heywood)
Look around wonder why
We can live a life that's never satisfied
Lonely hearts troubled minds
Looking for a way that we can never find
Many roads are ahead of us
With choices to be made
But life's just one of the games we play
There is no special way
Make the best of what's given you
Everything will come in time
Why deny yourself
Don't just let life pass you by like winter in July
Future dreams can never last
When you find yourself still living in the past
Keep moving on to higher ground
Looking for the way you thought could not be found
We may not know the reason why
We're born into this world
Where a man only lives to die his story left untold

(Traditional)
Are you going to Scarborough Fair?
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Remember me to one who lives there
He once was a true love of mine
Tell him to make me a cambric shirt
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Without no seams nor needle work
Then he'll be a true love of mine
Tell him to find me an acre of land
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
Between salt water and the sea strands
Then he'll be a true love of mine
Tell him to reap it with a sickle of leather
Parsley, sage, rosemary and thyme
And gather it all in a bunch of heather
Then he'll be a true love of mine

(Beethoven / C. Ferrau)
Muri die vento
Notte e scesa
Padre e figlio sono insiem
Con un cavallo
Vanno avanti
In questa grande oscurita
Ma ad un tratto
Il bimbo trema
Dalla paura
Freddo si fa
Padre oh padre
Tu non hai visto
Re degli elfi
Eccolo la
Figlio perduto,
Vuoi far un gioco?
Gioia ti porto
Vieni con me
Padre oh padre
Hai gia sentito
Cosa mi dice
E che vuol' far'?
Figlio perduto
Se tu non vieni
Io usero la forza che ho
Padre oh padre
Re degli elfi
Mi sta toccando
Male mi fa
E il bambino,
Con occhi chiusi
Lui non si muove
Perso e gia
Figlio
Figlio perduto
Se tu non vieni
Io usero la forza che ho
Padre oh padre
Re degli elfi
Mi sta toccando
Male mi fa
E il bambino,
Con occhi chiusi
Lui non si muove
Perso e gia
... perso e gia
Translation:
Walls of wind
Night Has Fallen
Father and son are together
With a horse
They progress
Through this intense darkness
But suddenly
The boy trembles with fear
It gets cold
Father oh Father
Haven’t you see
The King of the elves,
There he is
Lost son
Do you want to play
I bring you joy
Come with me
Father oh Father
Have you heard
What you said
And what he will do
Lost son
If you don’t come with me
I’ll use my power
Father oh Father
It’s the King of the elves
He is touching me
He hurts me
And the boy
Eyes closed
He doesn’t move
He’s already lost
Lost
Lost son
If you don’t come with me
I’ll use my power
Father oh Father
It’s the King of the elves
He is touching me
He hurts me
And the boy
Eyes closed
He doesn’t move
He’s already lost
…he’s already lost

A Whiter Shade Of Pale: 原是Procol Harum樂團1967年首張同名專輯的主打歌曲﹐往後有無數的翻唱版本﹐ 1978年有Joe Cocker的版本﹐收錄於Luxury You Can Afford專輯內﹐不過筆者一直不太喜歡 Joe ﹐1995年有Annie Lennox的驚喜版本﹐收錄於Medusa專輯內。
(G. Brooker / K. Reid)
We skipped the light Fandango
Turned cartwheels 'cross the floor
I was feeling kind of seasick
But the crowd called out for more
The room was humming harder
As the ceiling flew away
When we called out for another drink
The waiter brought a tray
And so it was that later
As the Miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale
She said there is no reason
And the truth is plain to see
But I wandered through my playing cards
And I would not let her be
One of the sixteen vestal virgins
Who were leaving for the coast
And although my eyes were open
They might just as well've been closed
And so it was that later
As the Miller told his tale
That her face, at first just ghostly
Turned a whiter shade of pale

Hijo De La Luna:
(J. M. Cano)
Tonto el que no entienda.
Cuenta una leyenda
Que una hembra gitana
Conjuro a la luna hasta el amanecer.
Llorando pedia
Al llegar el dia
Desposar un cal?
Tendras a tu hombre, piel morena,
Desde el cielo hablo la luna llena.
Pero a cambio quiero
El hijo primero
Que le engendres a el
Que quien su hijo inmola
Para no estar sola
Poco le iba a querer.
Luna quieres ser madre
Y no encuentras querer
Que te haga mujer.
Dime luna de plata
Que pretendes hacer
Con un nino de piel.
A-ha-ha, a-ha-ha,
Hijo de la luna.
De padre canela nacio un nino
Blanco como el lomo de un armino,
Con los ojos grises
En vez de aceituna
Nino albino de luna.
maldita su estampa
Este hijo es de un payo
Y yo no me lo callo.
Gitano al creerse deshonrado,
Se fue a su mujer,
Cuchillo en mano.
De quien es el hijo?
Me has enganao fijo.
Translation:
Son of The Moon
A fool is he who doesn’t understand
A legend tells
That a gypsy woman
Implored the moon
Weeping, she begged till dawn
To marry a gypsy man
“You’ll have your brown-skin man”
Spoke the full moon from the sky
“But in return I want
The first child
That you have with him”
One who sacrifices her child
In order not to be alone
Is not going
To love it very much
Moon you want to be mother
And you can’t find a love
Who makes you a woman
Tell me, moon of silver
What you intend to do
With a child of flesh
Son of the moon
From a cinnamon-skinned father a son was born
White like an ermine’s belly
With grey eyes
Instead of olive
Moon’s albino son
“Damn his appearance!
This is a not a gypsy man’s son
And you won’t get away with this”
The gypsy believing himself dishonored
Went to his wife, knife in hand
“Whose son is this?
I am sure you have deceived me!”
And he stabbed her to death
Then he went to the mountain
With the child in his arms
And abandoned it there
And on nights when the moon is full
It’s because the child is happy
And if the child cries
The moon will wane
To make him a cradle
And if the child cries
The moon will wane to make him a cradle

Here With Me: 來自1999年Dido的“No Angel ” 專輯歌曲﹐也是連續劇“Roswell ” 的插曲。
(D. Armstrong / P. Stratham / P. Gabriel)
I didn't hear you leave
I wonder how am I still here
I don't want to move a thing
It might change my memory
Oh I am what I am
I'll do what I want
But I can't hide
I won't go
I won't sleep
I can't breathe
Until you're resting
Here with me
I won't leave
I can't hide
I cannot be
Until you're resting
Here with me
I don't want to call my friends
They might wake me from this dream
And I don't wanna leave this bed
Risk forgetting all that's been
Oh-oh-oh ...
