玫瑰玫瑰我愛你一曲風行中外﹐為“銀嗓子” 姚莉1940年客串周璇電影“天涯歌女” 的插曲。作曲者為林枚 (陳歌辛的筆名) ﹐陳乃“梁祝小提琴協奏曲” 撰曲人陳鋼之父。

1951年﹐美國當紅歌手Frankie Laine從Mercury轉投Columbia唱片﹐並推出首張雙A面單曲Jezebel/Rose, Rose, I Love You。 Jezelbel攀到流行榜第2位﹐而Rose一曲得到第3位。Rose Rose I Love You就是改編自陳歌辛的“玫瑰玫瑰我愛你” 的英文版﹐為中國歌壇首支被翻成英文並揚威海外的作品。聽說50年代﹐美國彼岸正努力尋找Rose的作曲人﹐並有近乎百萬美元的版稅待領﹐但可惜當時陳歌辛因政局問題﹐不能去。

其後﹐Columbia也曾推出一張78轉的留聲唱片﹐一面收錄了Frankie Laine 的英文版﹐而另一面收錄的就是姚莉的國語原版。(見附圖)
