來自90年代的Take That組合﹐1996年Robbie Williams離隊獨立發展﹐

先翻唱George Michael的Freedom 90成為首支單曲作獨立宣言﹐成積平平﹐1997年受到搖滾樂隊Oasis的影響﹐改走搖滾路線﹐與製作人Guy Chambers合作的Life Thru A Lens專輯及1998年I’ve Been Expecting You專輯隨即大獲好評。同年在美國出版The Ego Has Landed精選專輯﹐務求開拓市場。1999年出版Sing When You're Winning專輯﹐精采作品無數﹐更與Kylie Minogue合唱Kids﹐成功地把這位80年代歌手帶回樂壇。踏入千禧﹐出版Swing When You're Winning懷舊專輯﹐走Frank Sinatra的 Big Band路線務求全力進攻美國市場﹐但似乎失去了個人風格﹐成積更是強差人意。2002年﹐與EMI簽下巨額新合約﹐新專輯Escapology,雖然在歐州仍然大賣﹐但是卻損失了長期合作夥伴Guy Chambers及美國市場。

重溫Sing When You’re Winning專輯﹐裡頭收錄超級正歌Better Man﹐2000年林憶蓮曾翻唱成同名的國語版。原來緋聞不絕的壞孩子﹐也可以有深情的一面。
