踏入80年代﹐等待了7個月﹐ABBA終於推出全新單曲﹐這也是取自“Super Trouper”(1980/Polydor) 的首支單曲﹐名為 The Winner Takles It All。

1978年 ABBA以 Summer Night City轉向強勁節拍的 Disco音樂﹐可是踏入另一個年代﹐他們首張單曲卻是一首苦澀的中版歌曲﹐風格又再有新轉變。許多人認為 ABBA開始講及更深入的感受﹐更認為The Winner Takes It All 是談論Björn Ulvaeus跟Agnetha Fältsko婚姻破裂的歌曲﹐可是Björn 卻公開否認。此曲在美國 Billboard取得第8位﹐而英國方面成冠達兩星期﹐這也是他們在英國第8首冠軍歌。至於歐洲方面的成績﹐在比利時﹑荷蘭﹑愛爾蘭都是取得冠軍位置﹔瑞典得第2﹔ 芬蘭﹑奧地利﹑挪威﹑瑞士都成為Top 5歌曲﹔而德國﹑澳洲及新西蘭分別取得第4 ﹑第7及第16位。
