踏入1979年﹐ ABBA為即將發行的全新專輯“Voulez-Vous”(1979/Polydor) 推出首支單曲 Chiquitita。

1978年當 ABBA推出單曲 Summer Night City後﹐那強勁的節拍也把 ABBA跟 Disco音樂拉上了關係﹐可是當他們從Voulez-Vous專輯中描取首張單曲Chiquitita卻非常民謠味道﹐這也突出了他們的音樂根源。Chiquitita是西班牙文﹐即是“小女孩” 的意思﹐其後他們也灌唱了西班牙語版。並在西班牙得到流行榜第5位。

而英語版在10個國家成冠﹐包括比行時﹑荷蘭﹑芬蘭﹑愛爾蘭﹑新西蘭﹑甚至西班牙等地。至於美國 Billboard 得到第29 ﹐而英國則得到第2位。在老家瑞典也得到亞軍﹐澳洲及德國分別取得第4及第3位。英語版的版稅則捐給 UNICEF ﹐作為支持聯合國的國際兒童年 (International Year Of The Child) 。

Chiquitita 發行了幾天﹐Agnetha跟 Björn便告離婚﹐當時許多人都在猜測 ABBA將會何去何從﹐後來他們宣佈即使離婚﹐也不會影響到 ABBA的合作﹐兩年後Björn 與 Lena Källersjö 結婚。而Chiquitita發行了3個月後﹐便推出“Voulez-Vous”(1979/Polydor) 專輯。至於Chiquitita 的 B Side則是一首Lovelight﹐它只出現於單曲中﹐卻沒有收錄於“Voulez-Vous”內。
