70年代 Disco 音樂熱潮橫掃世界各地﹐雖然這已是30年前的事﹐但是現在重溫還是覺得歌曲勁道十足﹐雖然許多都是 One Hit Wonder 之作﹐可是還有許多經典歌星或組合﹐擁有無數經典歌曲的﹐這一次我想起了 Boney M。

經典的 Boney M由德國唱片監制Frank Farian 一手促成﹐他本來想當一個歌手﹐可是跟唱片公司選曲意向不同﹐於是1974年他走進錄音室灌錄了Baby Do You Wanna Bump。其實這首歌曲只是反覆唱著Do You Wanna Bump﹐然後加上女合音而成﹐而他就把唱片主唱人命名為 Boney M。為了能在電視幕前表演﹐他計劃聘請一個組合演唱﹐於是加入模特兒Maizie Williams﹐及後經過其他成員加入﹑退出及變換後﹐最後由Maizie Williams﹑Marcia Barrett﹑Liz Mitchell及舞蹈員Bobby Farrell 組成﹐成為四人的 Disco組合。

起初Boney M 並未獲得樂迷熱烈反應﹐可是因為他們在各大 Disco﹑夜總會巡迴表演﹐於是贏得注意﹐及後參加了電視台節目Musikladen的演出﹐換來了事業的轉捩點。1976年在 Hansa推出了首張專輯Take The Heat Off Me。

Take The Heat Off Me專輯的首張單曲 Daddy Cool ﹐推出即取得德國流行榜冠軍位置﹐除了在美國 Billboard成續不甚理想﹐只得第65位外﹐世界各地都取得佳續﹐在英國更也得到第6位。

繼單曲 Daddy Cool發行後﹐另一張單曲 Sunny也告推出﹐除了在德國成軍外﹐在英國流行榜也得到第3位﹐不過這乃是 Cover Version﹐原唱為 Bobby Hebb (1966/Philips)﹐此曲由Bobby創作﹐寫於其哥哥1963年死於一場毆鬥之後。

Sunny﹕此曲在香港非常流行﹐後來廣告商改編成為“沙示”汽水的廣告歌﹐由林子祥主唱﹐而唱片方面有許冠英主唱了粵語版“波士”﹐ 收錄於“錢作怪”(1980/Polydor) 專輯中。
