Medley About Madonna

1985年 Madonna火速取得樂迷歡心﹐並且舉行了非常成功的 The Virgin Tours 巡迴演唱﹐然而美國由殿堂級歌手 Harry Belafonte 發起灌錄的 We’re The World 卻沒有她的份兒﹐不過後來她還是被邀請於 Live Aid演出。

大會安排了Bette Midler以非常幽默的口吻來介紹她出場﹕I want you to know that I have no idea why I was asked to introduce this next act because you all know that I am the soul of good taste and decorum. However, we are thrilled, we are thrilled to be able to introduce to you today a woman whose name has been on everyone’s lips for the last six months. A woman who pulled herself up by her bra straps and who has been known to let them down occasionally. She’s great, she’s hot, she’s a lot like a virgin. She’s Madonna!

然而在 Live Aid演出的同一個月﹐Playboy及 Penthouse兩本成人雜誌分別刊登了她在1979年的黑白裸照﹐這造成不少輿論。在還沒有 Internet的世界﹐這些裸照也傳得很快﹐坊間多張 DJ Remix唱片﹐雖然只用一個沒顏色的封套作包裝﹐但最令人眼前一亮是貼有一張 Madonna三點畢露的 Sticker﹐於是這張非官方的 Madonna Medley就流行於坊間的年青人唱片店。印象中當時筆者都在唱片租賃店﹐租了這張 Remix回家﹐ Side A是 Heaven Mix ﹐把多首Madonna大熱單曲串連著﹐包括 Into The Groove﹑Lucky Star﹑Holiday﹑Borderline﹑Like A Virgin﹑Angel﹑Material Girl﹑Dress You Up﹐並且混入 Bette Midler 於 Live Aid 的 Madonna 介紹﹐而 Side B名為Grooving Mix﹐其實是 Holiday的 Remix。

當時有關 Madonna 的 DJ Remix 相當多﹐另一首便是由美國 Disconet 操刀的 Medley About Madonna﹐長達11:59﹐令人跳得過癮﹐筆者便曾在友人的耶誕派對﹐充任DJ﹐點播過此曲。Medley 包括 Like A Virgin﹑Lucky Star﹑Borderline﹑Holiday﹐而以 Like A Virgin 為主﹐這首 Medley收錄於 Disconet Program Vol. 7中。
