1984年是筆者接觸英美﹑日本及香港音樂最強的年頭﹐那時樂壇實在百花齊放﹐而且許多歌曲都會出現 Remix混音版本﹐聽起來非常過癮。

最初接觸 Madonna的歌曲是 Like A Virgin﹐她的形象極為反叛﹐穿著的是廉價街頭服飾﹐很能成為那個年代年輕人的偶像﹐而且她更大膽地把性的禁忌唱出來﹐表演在舞台上。1984年 Madonna便以 Like A Virgin單曲首次取得 Billboard流行榜冠軍﹐也成為她成功音樂事業的揭幕﹐而她也甚得日本人歡心﹐這時日本華納便以此曲加上3首 1st Album的歌曲﹐發行了一張當地獨有的混音 EP。

Madonna的4首歌曲皆由John "Jellybean" Benitez混音﹐筆者尤其喜歡它們的編曲及錄音音色﹐而且歌曲帶有糖衣味道﹐簡單的舞曲﹐配上延長的版本﹐聽起來就令人非常受落﹐不過 Borderline一直都不是筆者的杯中茶﹐或者覺得它不屬於舞曲﹐總欠缺點勁道吧。
