筆者喜歡唱片公司出版精選系列﹐因為除了售價不貴外﹐許多消失已久的歌手或樂團都會包括其中﹐而且收錄的歌曲會橫跨多個多代﹐對於初步認識一位歌手﹐會很有幫助。The Essential 系列是近年 Sony BMG 一個很重要的系列﹐試想能買齊120張CD﹐基本上你已經認識到他們廠牌下各種音樂類別中的重要人物及代表歌曲了﹐而且 Sony BMG 還一直在出版新的精選輯。我想能把120張CD並列﹐那感覺實在太酷了。
