自從出版了Too Funky單曲後﹐George Michael也正式與 Sony唱片打起官司來了﹐可是他的事業並沒有停下來﹐不過因著合約問題﹐參與的唱片﹐都是捐助公益﹑致敬合輯的錄音﹐1992年便參與了向 Freddie Mercury致敬的演唱會。

1993年 Hollywood Records為此音樂會出版了 2 Laser Disc“The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert”﹐參與的歌手/樂隊可謂星光熠熠﹐包括了 Metallica﹑Extreme﹑Def Leppard﹑Gun N’ Roses﹑Paul Young﹑Seal﹑Lisa Stansfield﹑David Bowie﹑Annie Lennox﹑Elton John 及George Michael等。

George與 Queen合作了 39﹑ Somebody To Love及加上 Lisa Stansfield合唱了 These Are The Days Of Our Lives。當時此演唱會除了出版錄影外﹐沒有出版 Live Recording CD ﹐可是卻特別抽取 George Michael部份出版了一張名為“George Michael And Queen With Lisa Stansfield – Five Live” 的EP。

Five Live 在美國除了出版EP外﹐Somebody To Love也作單曲發行﹐得到第30位﹐而英國方面由 EMI的 Parlophone發行﹐EP得到冠軍位置﹐一切收益撥入 Mercury Phoenix Trust。筆者很喜歡 George演繹 Queen 的兩首作品﹐因為 Freddie Mercury的聲線非常獨特﹐富有歌劇味道的高音﹐但又擁有硬朗的搖滾霸氣﹐實在無人能及﹐可是他的版本也非常有自己的風格﹐但又沒被 Freddie比不去﹐實在是很棒的 Cover Version。

當時曾有人預測 George Michael與 Sony對薄公堂﹐肯定不會再留在 Columbia﹐所以能與 Queen在 EMI旗下出版錄音﹐相信不久將來應會加盟旗下。其實這種講法也有其道理﹐因為 Five Live掛名是 George Michael+Queen+Lisa Stansfield﹐其實 Lisa只佔半首歌而已﹐雖然 Queen 兩首歌曲與 George合作﹐加一首樂隊的舊錄音﹐但是另外三首 George的 Live 歌曲跟本與 Queen扯不止任何關係﹐而且也不是The Freddie Mercury Tribute Concert的錄音﹐整張 EP根本以他為主﹐所以就像一班好友找藉口幫助他出版新曲般。不過後來 George離開 Sony後﹐果然跟 EMI有合作。
