Kong Ling - Theme For A Dream >>

Kong Ling - Hong Kong Presents Off-Beat Cha Cha

Hong Kong. . . . . .The Pearl Of The Orient. . .presents the Off-Beat Cha Cha.
The Off-Beat was first popularised in Manila and in no time at all it swept the Orient like the Asian Flu, but without its ill-effects. The demand for Off-Beat discs was so great that the Diamond Music Company decided to record and release the first long play exclusively devoted to this exciting tempo. The automatic choice of a vocalist was the charming and talented Kong Ling with Celso Carrillo as arranger and conductor.
Celso's arrangements are not only refreshingly new but real swingers. Celso, himself, can be heard playing the piano, cow-bell, timbales and conga drum on various tracks. This L.P. fulfills his ambition to score Latin American arrangements for four trumpets, baritone sax and percussion instruments.
Twenty-five year-old Kong Ling, who's real name is Kong Yan Lai, is a modern day Cinderella. Ever since she was a little girl Kong Ling loved singing but never thought of it as a career until she won an inter-school competition in 1951 with the song "Congratulations" Since that wonderful day this talented Oriental thrush has continuously been showered with compliments.
Kong Ling made her professional debut in 1954 and after a series of local engagements toured Singapore for nine months. She was so successful that when she returned to Hong Kong she became the most sought after singer. This charmer was in such great demand that she became the first artist in the Colony to be featured in three separate night-clubs every evening. She is known as the "Sweetheart of Hong Kong" and this tribute is understandable as a few tracks of this record will clearly indicate her versatility.
Kong Ling's popularity is not restricted to night-spots. She also appears in various radio and television shows and is always ready to make personal appearances at charity performances. This is her first attempt at recording in English and the result is something she can be proud of. Arthur Godfrey heard her perform and was so fascinated that he invited her to appear on his Television show (by the time you read this Kong Ling has probably appeared in Godrey' s show).
Besides being a very successful singer Kong Ling enjoys listening to records, dancing, movies and sports cars. When asked what her ambition was, she shyly replied: "I' would like to become a very good singer and a very good wife".
Whether she's going "Off-Beat", searching for "The Voice Of Love", buying "A One Way Ticket To The Blues", declaring her "Heart Is An Open Book", reminiscing "Tenderly" or simply saying "Sayonara" she combines her charm, warmth, sincerity and talent to delight you with some really wonderful Off-Beat versions of twelve popular songs.
This album is unreservedly recommended to you for here you have a new sound, something unusual" something exciting but most important of all . . . . . . . this is Kong Ling . . . . . . . . The Voice of Hong Kong.

Dear cuty,
http://blog.roodo.com/muzikland/archives/1480553.html

Mona Lisa
Mona Lisa
In a villa in a little old Italian town,
Lives a girl
Whose beauty shames the rose,
Many yearn to love her
But their hopes all tumble down.
What does she want?
No one knows!
Mona Lisa, Mona Lisa,
Men have named you,
You're so like the lady
With the mystic smile.
Is it only 'cause you're lonely?
They have blamed you for that
Mona Lisa strangeness in your smile?
Do you smile to tempt a lover,
Mona Lisa
Or is this your way
To hide a broken heart?
Many dreams have been brought
To your door-step.
They just lie there, and they die there.
Are you warm, are you real,
Mona Lisa,
Or just a cool and lonely,
Lovely work of art?

Sayonara
Sayonara, Japanese goodbye,
Whisper Sayonara smiling
Don't you cry.
No more we stop to see
Pretty cherry blossom,
No more we 'neath the tree
Looking at the sky,
Sayonara, Sayonara, goodbye.
Sayonara, if it must be so,
Whisper Sayonara smiling
as you go,
No more we stop to see
Pretty cherry blossom,
No more we'neath the tree
Looking at the sky,
Sayonara, Sayonara, goodbye.

Dear Apple,
Pat Kirby – Sayonara
http://blog.roodo.com/muzikland/archives/1294958.html
Marlon Brando - Sayonara

Let’s Go Off Beat聽起來很可愛呢!

Dear hsumolly,

dear Muzikland:

Dear hsumolly,

dear Muzikland:
