在網上發表音樂介紹約一年﹐除了可與音樂同好共同分享外﹐也認識了不少音樂的朋友﹐有時從他們的部落介紹﹐更可收增廣見聞之效﹐“The Golden Age Of The Piano”紀錄片就是在這種情況下引起自己的興趣找來看的。

其實筆者除了大提琴外﹐對小提琴﹑鋼琴等獨奏的興趣一直不大﹐不過近年發現不單對各類型的音樂有好奇心﹐甚至對各類型音樂的歷史也產生濃厚的興趣。印象中此DVD應與 Philips 多年前出版的一套鋼琴紀念集 Boxset 相關﹐根據它的介紹﹐原來鋼琴的發展才約300年的歷史﹐並由義大利人發明﹐近兩個小時的內容除了介紹鋼琴的進化史外﹐也介紹了19﹑20世紀的知名鋼琴家﹐另外又收錄了很多珍貴的名家錄音及演出片段﹐Brahms為愛迪生錄下的一段德語講話錄音就非常有趣。DVD由德國出版﹐提供了法語﹑德語﹑意大利語﹑西班牙語字幕﹐後來更意外發現有中文字幕﹐不過仍是古典音樂門外漢的筆者﹐對著鋼琴家的中文名字翻譯﹐就有點摸不著頭腦﹐如能夠在畫面上顯示他們的英文名字﹐或提供英文字幕﹐相信會令筆者更容易明白。

另外也有鋼琴家Van Cliburn的介紹﹐十多年前因為對 RCA Victor 50/60年代的錄音響往﹐而買了Van Cliburn in Moscow 專輯﹐想不到這位來自美國德州的鋼琴家﹐竟在1958年美蘇 Cold War 期間﹐以23歲之齡於莫斯科第一屆柴可夫斯基大賽得獎﹐本片便可欣賞到他彈奏Tchaikovsky's Piano Concerto No. 1的片段。藉著此紀錄片﹐確實令自己對鋼琴演奏多一點認識﹐得益不少。
